Tips for parents on health

Forewarned is forearmed. Gather the first aid kit on the road, grab our advice for parents on preserving the baby's health and ... do not let them need you. Have a nice rest!

While on vacation, do not forget that the child is in completely new conditions unfamiliar to him. It is the mother who can help the baby adapt quickly and avoid possible troubles.

Board number one. First access to the beach

Summer rest is, first of all, a lot of sun. And, as you know, the sun's rays do not only benefit. The delicate skin of the baby is very sensitive. Protect her before going to the beach. Your assistants are a beach umbrella, panamka and a sunblock. Do not forget about the time constraints: on the coast you can only stay in the morning and evening hours.

Therefore, do not sleep long better in time, go with the baby to the beach: breathe fresh air and enjoy the useful sun.

Doctors strongly do not recommend children under 6 months exposed to open sunlight.

Tip number two. Eternal glory to the water!

Even if your child, because of his age, barely keeps on his feet, he will necessarily follow in the direction of the water: the seas, rivers or lakes. Most of the youngsters quite fearlessly react to cold water. Do not count on the fact that the crumb itself will come out of the pond: you will have to regulate this process. It is desirable that in the early days (the period of acclimatization) the baby was on the beach no more than 10-15 minutes, and in the water even less. At first glance, floundering on the shoal is safe, but because of the small intensity of the movements the baby can quickly become supercooled.

Take on the beach with changeable underwear: panties, a football and panamku. After bathing carefully wipe and change the day of the baby. You can continue your vacation in the park or forest zone.

Board number three. I overheated

The sun's rays can become the culprits not only to damage to the skin. Local overheating of the head area can provoke a sunstroke. The most common cause of this condition is the neglect of recommendations for safe rest. Adults often rely on the case and stories of other parents: they say, they did not limit themselves or the child in anything. For local overheating, you do not need too much time - enough to sit for 15 minutes in direct sunlight. You should be alerted if the crumb became drastic to sleep or the baby suddenly began to cry for no apparent reason. Pay attention to the complexion (better in the shade): a sharp pallor or, conversely, pronounced redness - a signal to the fact that the beach must be left. In addition to a sunstroke, the baby can also receive a heat stroke - a painful condition that results from overheating of the body. It can be obtained even while in the shade (especially if the child wear synthetic clothing). Symptoms of heat stroke are general weakness, drowsiness, dizziness. Often the blow is accompanied by vomiting and diarrhea, the body temperature rises to 40 C.

Tips for parents on preserving the health of the child: take the crumb into a cool room (the optimal temperature is 18-20C), and put a wet napkin on the forehead area. Give me a drink of warm water. Solder in small portions, but often. If the child is already talking, ask where he hurts. Vomiting, fainting and high fever require immediate medical attention.

Tip number four. If the stomach was ill

A hot season, a change of water and food can be responsible for gastrointestinal upset or dyspepsia. Rapidly dilute stools, as well as cramping pulling pains in the lower abdomen are its main manifestations. The kid should be in a cool. Let him drink more. After each "walk to the toilet" add 50-100 ml of liquid. Give the crumbs sorbents (enterosgel, activated charcoal) and stand it for three days on a sparing diet with the exception of juices, sweets and sausages. Throughout the period of malaise, monitor the temperature of the baby, and also closely monitor its overall activity. If you notice that the baby becomes sluggish, pisses a little, he has a green chair with an unpleasant smell or blood streaks, be sure to consult a doctor.

Tip number five. Bitten, stung, scratched

On vacation, you are not immune from minor trouble. Correctly assembled first-aid kit and your operative actions will correct the situation. In the heat, treat with antiseptics even minor, at first glance, wounds. Scratches can become inflamed! You will need 3% hydrogen peroxide, a solution of green, iodine or betadine. Bites of insects will help gel fenistil, as well as gruel from soda with water, superimposed on the blister. The place of the burn formed from contact with the jellyfish, wash with clean fresh water and smear with fenistil. Bites of insects can develop an allergy. Observe for a crumb: if there is a rash or severe swelling in the bite and outside it, give one age-related dose of an antihistamine drug, apply fenistil to the wound and call a doctor urgently!

The last thing you want to think about any ills on vacation, but do not lose your vigilance! Before traveling to another country, you and your baby will be issued medical insurance. Ask what is included in it. As a rule, insurance covers the provision of free first aid. Specify with the tour operator, on what phone number you call to call a doctor, and also how to pay for treatment in a local hospital (in order to have the necessary amount). Write out of the child's medical record, the illnesses that have been transferred to him, as well as the medications he has taken to the present day, and the reaction to them. Such questions, as a rule, are set by any doctor during the initial examination. Prepared by you "cheat sheet" will help not get lost in a critical situation. Having a first aid kit with you, you will be able to provide first aid to the karapuza itself, even before the arrival of the doctor. To independently give your child medication, you should know the age-appropriate dose. Do not throw away the instructions from the drug, and you can always double-check yourself!
