Treatment of rheumatoid arthritis by the method of acupuncture

The East has given us many unconventional ways of treatment. And one of these methods is acupuncture. The range of diseases that are treated with needles is simply huge. Today we will talk about the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis using the method of acupuncture.

That the effect of acupuncture was the most successful, it is necessary to follow three main factors:

  1. Intensity and number of stimuli
  2. Place of irritation
  3. Health status of the patient

The effect of acupuncture depends on the choice of the location of the point of irritation, the method and force of needle insertion, and the nature of needle insertion.

Acupuncture affects the human body by two completely opposite reactions to stimulation: excitation and inhibition.

The reaction of inhibition of the body occurs with strong irritation, which

should be used for a long time, while gradually increasing its intensity. The patient should experience a feeling of numbness, heaviness, a sense of passing current and bursting. The method is used for secretory and sensitive activity of the body, with an increase in the motor function of the body. In addition, the inhibition reaction causes analgesic, sedative, desensitizing and hypotensive effects.

The braking reaction can be called in two ways. The first method consists in prolonged and intense irritation. It is intended only for adults and is contraindicated in elderly people and children. The number of needles must not exceed more than two or three. Needles need to be injected slowly, with rotating movements and with a constantly increasing force of irritation. Punctuation can be used for these purposes. Depending on the location of the point, the depth of the injection can vary from one and a half to eight centimeters. The time for which the needles are left in the human body can range from thirty minutes to several hours. The average time of the procedure is about half an hour. If the doctor thinks it necessary, then sometimes it is necessary to leave the needle for a longer time, then for this special gold T-shaped needles are used.

When spasms, painful syndromes or cramps, acupuncture treatment can be combined with cauterization. The duration of this procedure is from twenty minutes to one hour after or during acupuncture.

The second method is applicable at any age. The number of points must not exceed four. When you insert the needle, the sensations will be weaker than the first method. The needle must also be inserted rotationally. In adult patients, the needle is left for ten to twelve minutes, for children - for five minutes (depending on the age of the child).

To achieve an exciting effect, it is necessary to apply mild irritation by fast, short effects on the skin, which are applied gradually to a series of points. Pricks are accompanied by light pain. The time of such impacts should be small.

The exciting reaction is also caused by two methods. In the first variant, irritation occurs during simultaneous puncture at 5-10 points. The depth of acupuncture should be from thirty to fifty millimeters. They make fast, strong and short irritations from thirty seconds to two minutes. Even after the introduction of needles, it is possible to perform dotted movements and to carry out in combination with acupuncture or independently tszyu therapy, pecking the method from 1-3 min.

In the second variant, the exciting effect will be achieved with the help of superficial injections (from thirty millimeters to three centimeters) and a large number of points. Irritations must be strong, fast in order to have pain.

Sometimes the patient does not experience this kind of sensation, or it is rather weakly expressed. In such cases, it is necessary to apply short severe stimuli in the form of rotation or puncture. If the sensation is expressed very strongly and the muscle is tense, it is necessary to give an increasing, prolonged stimulation - a slow stimulation with the subsequent abandonment of the rotation of the needle. Definitely, that the movement of the needle along the meridian affects the excitation, and against the meridian - on inhibition.

In rheumatoid arthritis, you must first apply the first method of the inhibitory method at local points before the painful sensation arises in the affected joint, and then you need to go to distant points and apply the second method of the inhibitory method to eliminate the unpleasant sensations caused before by the injections. A similar irritation should be applied in two or three points.

In the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis of hands, acupuncture is done on the lower limbs. It is necessary to use the second method of the inhibitory method. Conduct 3 courses of treatment for ten days each, between them you need to take a break for seven days. The injections are done together with cauterization.

Rules for combining points

The most difficult in acupuncture is the selection of points with their combination in all sorts of diseases. With the observance of the right technique and technique, the treatment of arthritis with acupuncture does not give complications. Only in some cases complications are probable: needle retention in tissues, autonomic reactions, hematomas, residual sensations and so on.

In many cases, the vegetative response appears as a result of overly crude manipulation of the needle or a strong fear of the patient whose treatment occurs for the first time. Often after the introduction of the needle appears pallor, sweating, dizziness. If this happens, then it is necessary to lay the patient and pull out the needle.

After the needle is removed, a drop of blood may appear. If there is a hematoma, then this is a consequence of damage to the vessel. Locally it is necessary to apply cold, light massage, and then a warm compress.
