When to start giving lure babies?

How, when to start giving lure babies? These questions arise absolutely before every mother of an infant. It would seem that the mother eats milk or an adapted mixture, and well, what else does he need, then he is an infant. Indeed, mother's milk is the most useful and necessary food for the baby and should not be rushed to feed the baby with adult food. But too long to delay the introduction of complementary foods should not be.

So, why is it necessary to introduce complementary foods?
First, lure contributes to the formation of the digestive system and motor function of the baby's intestines, stimulates the development of enzymatic and digestive activity of the digestive system.
Secondly, with the lure to the baby's body, animals and vegetable proteins, various carbohydrates, fatty acids, dietary fibers and, finally, vitamins, necessary for its further growth and development, fall into the organism of the baby.
Thirdly, thanks to the lure, the child learns to chew and swallow food, which is more solid in consistency than milk, gets acquainted with new taste and tactile sensations.
And, fifth, there is a gradual transition to family meals at a common table.
Agree, all the above reasons are worthy of attention.
When is it necessary to introduce the child to a new food for him?
The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends starting to feed a child not earlier than 6 months, if the child is on artificial feeding, then a little earlier. Of course, every mom solves this issue for herself, but here's what to look for. Lure can be started if:
-the child began to weigh twice as much as at birth
-The child can sit on his own or with support, holds the head and will be able to refuse eating, if he does not like it
- the baby began to erupt teeth
- develop chewing movements
- the baby remains hungry after breastfeeding, shows interest in adult food
Where should you start lure?
About 10-15 years ago, the lure was started with semolina porridge, or apple juice and mashed potatoes. Now pediatricians hold a different point of view: it is recommended to introduce the baby to puree from vegetables. This recommendation is explained as follows: in vegetables there are more vitamins and minerals, vegetable puree is not sweet and the child will eat it more willingly than after acquaintance with sweetish fruit puree or porridge.
It is necessary to start with a one-component puree. It can be zucchini, cauliflower, broccoli - the least allergenic vegetables. Then you can try carrots, pumpkin, potatoes, turnips. If the time of the first feeding falls on a season in which there is no fresh crop of vegetables (winter, spring, even early summer), then it is better to start with canned mashed potatoes - the good is now a big choice, since there is no use in stale vegetables. As for jars, this advice - do not buy many products from the same manufacturer at the same time, take the firmers of different companies, since there is always a possibility that the child will not like the taste of the contents of the jar, then he will be able to offer an alternative. And you can take care of the future lure in advance and freeze vegetables from your garden or those that are sure of it.
Each new vegetable begins to give a little - literally a teaspoon, gradually increasing the portion. Lure should be given before milk (mixture), in the morning. It is necessary to closely monitor the child's reaction to each new product (the stool may change, a rash may appear). Noticing any negative, the lure should be canceled and repeat the acquaintance with it a little later. After trying a few types of vegetables, go to a two-component puree.
It is important to remember that you should not introduce anything new if the child is unwell, has a fever or indigestion, if a vaccine has been given, if the chills are troubling.
The next type of food can be dairy-free cereal (buckwheat or rice), fruit puree, juice. Fruit puree and juice should be given in parallel from the same products (apple sauce, apple juice, pear puree, pear juice). When choosing fruit complementary foods, attention should be paid to the fact that some vegetables are fastened, and some have a laxative effect on the baby's intestines (they are fastened: pear, banana, blueberry, weak: apple, peach, plum).
Then the menu of the child is expanded due to sour-milk products, meat and fish puree. In the mash and vegetable puree creamy, sunflower oil is added, as well as yolk of chicken or quail eggs.
So gradually, month after month, the baby's food becomes more and more diverse. Each new kind of complementary feeding replaces feeding with breast milk (a mixture).
But, no matter how well a child does not eat different lures, do not stop breastfeeding, at least until the baby is one year old. Let in his diet the very first morning and last evening feeding will consist of mother's milk. Now you know when to start giving lure babies.
