Without tears and hysteria: how to prepare for the first day in kindergarten

This day parents are waiting with impatience and anxiety at the same time. Still would! The kid, who only recently took his first steps, is now quite grown up - he goes to the kindergarten. Pleasant excitement is mixed with intense anxiety, which can only be removed if thoroughly prepared for this important event. How to help the child to adapt in the kindergarten and how to spend the first days in the kindergarten without tears and hysterics will be discussed further.

How to Prepare for a Kindergarten: Tips for Parents

The decision to visit a child's preschool institution is rarely spontaneous and often the first campaign in the kindergarten is preceded by more than one month of preparation. On how much effort you put into this period, the success of adaptation largely depends. So do not neglect this great opportunity and take the responsibility to follow the simple guidelines below.

First, at least a month before the expected date of the first campaign, begin to observe the daily routine of the kindergarten: lifting, walking, eating, dining. So the child will be much easier to get used to the garden and the rules that it operates.

Secondly, constantly tell the kid about what is waiting for him in the kindergarten. He should have a clear picture about this place: who are the educators, what are the children doing, and what are the rules in the garden. If the child is very small, then such conversations can be in the form of a fairy tale or a story before going to bed.

Attention! Do not create false illusions in the baby. Kindergarten is not a magical country with unicorns and gifts. It is better to speak the truth and gently voice the negative points, so that in the future they do not become a shock for the child.

And thirdly, get rid of doubts. Children are very sensitive to the slightest uncertainty and how professional manipulators will necessarily use such fluctuations for their own purposes. Speak about visiting the kindergarten gently, but confidently, emphasizing that this is not just necessary, but also a very honorable task.

Organization of the first day in the garden: what to take and what to be ready for

So, this day is soon and, therefore, it's time to check whether everything is ready. Start with a simple list of the things you need. As a rule, educators themselves issue such a list. Take care to pre-purchase everything you need. Prepare a package with the baby's things: change shoes and clothes, a set of underwear, a handkerchief or napkins.

Most likely, for the first time you will leave the child in the kindergarten for only a couple of hours. Today, more and more educators tend to gradually adapt, which is less traumatic for a weak child's psyche. After about a week, the baby's time in kindergarten will increase and he will remain for lunch. Until then, please specify whether you need to bring your own bed linen and personal hygiene.

Do not forget about the psychological preparation. Well, if a few months before the garden you will attend classes in the children's development center or at least increase the circle of communication between the child and his peers on the site. Most often it is an unusually large number of children causing difficulties in adaptation.

In addition, a big mistake many parents make on the first day is an imperceptible disappearance from the group at a time when the child is distracted by new toys. In this situation, the baby remains alone in an unfamiliar environment, which intensifies stress. It is important that he is not afraid, so be sure to introduce him to the educator. Speak to the child the exact time when you take it, for example, after a walk. After that, kiss the baby and confidently leave. In no case do not stop hearing a cry and tears, otherwise in the future the child will surely cry to deter you.
