Such storage conditions will allow the tuber to mature. After that the plant for the whole winter is planted in the same container, but already with fresh earth. In March, the land should be replaced with the following composition: sand (1/2 part), leaf earth (1 part) and two parts of turf ground. After diving, the plant should be put in a bright, sunny place and begin to water regularly. In this place the plant is until the inflorescence appears. The plant blooms abundantly. Features of care.

Calla is a houseplant, which is better to grow in conditions of bright scattered light, with shading from the sun's direct rays. During flowering, the plant needs bright light and a 16-20 degree temperature. Zantehedia Ethiopian blossoms in winter-spring time. As soon as the plant has blossomed watering it is necessary to limit, and then stop altogether. The plant can grow on the balcony, but in conditions of protection from direct noon sun rays and precipitation.

In the period from mid-July to early August, an earthen lump is removed from the pot, the houseplant is peeled from the remains of foliage and again dived into the pot. In this case, the plant does not need to be buried - the root neck should be slightly covered.

Suitable substrate: in equal proportions of turf, leaf, peat, humus and sand.

Watering at the beginning of growth is moderate and so it should be until the leaves are completely formed, after which a lot of watering is needed. After the flowers are faded, watering is reduced - watering is carried out as the substrate dries up almost completely. For irrigation, soft water is taken, besides, it must be kept.

Feeding: during the flowering period every 14 days in the watering water is added a liquid fertilizer, which is then sprayed with leaves, it is not necessary to spray flowers.

Calla is a plant that multiplies mainly by vegetative division and seeds. Seeds for sowing are taken exclusively freshly picked. After sowing a pot with seedlings is placed in a bright place with a temperature of 20-22 degrees. Dive the seedlings as soon as they are strong. After 2 months, young plants are dived into pots (not less than 7 cm).

Substrate: in the same proportion of sod land, peat land, leaf land and sand.

The next year in June and July, watering is reduced, then stopped altogether. In early autumn, the plant is dived into pots (not less than 11-13 cm). Watering abundant. The substrate is the same.

The main method of reproduction is division. This process consists in separating the lateral shoots formed near the mother plant. This work is carried out approximately in August-September, after a summer rest period.

We take shoots, which were formed from the rhizome, we process the cut with fungicidal powder, dry for 1-2 days. The shoots dive into 10 cm pots.

Substrate: sand (1 part), peat (1 part), leaf earth (1 part) and two parts of turf ground. After picking, water should be carefully, then watering increases to abundant. We pour out the rest, soft water. Plant calla contain in a room with a temperature of 16-18 degrees.

Possible difficulties.

During a rest period, low temperatures and excess water are not desirable.

It affects: a spider mites, especially in the room, where the air temperature exceeds 18 degrees. To prevent this, it is necessary to sprinkle the plant from time to time with water.
