Causes of poor academic performance

The most popular complaint among parents is that his child learns badly. Poor student performance puzzles both parents and teachers. This question eclipses all other reasons. In fact, behind this complaint lies a lot of various reasons. What are the reasons that a child lags behind peers in school?
Possible causes for underachieving the child
The reason for poor performance may lurk in the child itself - in his state of health: poor hearing or vision, fast fatigue or any chronic diseases. Not unimportant reason can be the mental state of the student: can not find a common language with classmates and teachers, anxiety or nervousness. One child's tasks seem too easy and he therefore does nothing, and for the second - tasks too complex.

Do not punish or abuse a child who is not doing well with school. Try to find out the reason for his poor progress. Ask the advice of teachers or the principal, consult a school psychologist, if available.

Able child
If all pupils in the class are learning the same program, then the children who are more capable and for them tasks are too easy, it becomes boring to learn. In this case, only the transition to the senior class can help. The decision is good if the child is more developed spiritually and physically than all the other of his peers. In the worst case, he will be alone among classmates, especially in the adolescent period.

Staying in its class, for a more capable student, training can be made more difficult, i.e. separately instructed to work out a book that is more difficult and make an abstract on it. If a child works for the sake of evaluations or in order to give the teacher pleasure, classmates are given different nicknames to him, such as "Pet" or "Smart".

If he works together with his team and his mind and knowledge are especially useful in the common cause, then the guys respect him and appreciate his knowledge.

And do you need to teach clever children before school to read and write? Parents say that children often ask to show them numbers and letters, thus they themselves ask to be taught. There is no harm if you satisfy the child's curiosity.

Often parents place high hopes on such a child and dream that he excels all other children. If a child plays in their games, they are calm about it, but if he showed interest in reading, parents enthusiastically help him learn to read. And this kid is not turning into a "literacy" by age.

Parents at any age should not put pressure on the child about the lessons or the choice of friends. For good parents, the primary task is to grow a happy person.

Bad study due to nervousness
Different circumstances can interfere with the good learning of the child - these are any troubles or family problems. I will give some examples:
Such things can be the cause of a strong fear and the child is already losing the ability to think anything.

If a child is punished at home or strongly scolded, he, being in a state of constant overstrain, can not hold his thoughts.

Interest to study has disappeared
A child studies at school badly, because there is simply no interest in studying. There are two reasons for this problem:
  1. Parents were unable to form a cognitive interest in the child because they did not conduct joint activities with him.
  2. Or parents from an early age "stuffed" the child with different knowledge and from this, he had a rejection.
In both cases, you can advise joint cognitive activities - for example, monitoring the growth of plants or how the kitten develops and grows.

Any activities should be conducted with the child in the "on equal" position. The position of pressure and hammering knowledge on the "bad" disciple can simply do much harm. Our goal is to instill in the child the interest of independent knowledge of the world.

Lazy child
A child, usually considered "lazy," is not really like that.

The reasons for his laziness are different, but this laziness is forgotten when it comes to his personal hobbies. The child, fearing to suffer any failure, does not dare to act. This applies to those children whose parents were too critical of his achievements or who demanded the impossible from the child.

A conscientious child can also sometimes learn badly. He can repeat many times a lesson that has already been learned and he always lags behind his peers with extra fussiness.

And most importantly - find the cause of the failure of the child and, combining efforts and knowledge about the child, teachers and parents should open up his best qualities and with the help of this knowledge to involve the child in the learning process.
