Depression and anxiety

ALARM DISORDERS
Another sister of depression is anxiety. Anxiety disorders are similar to depressive disorders: they are constant and long-lasting, they also imply nervousness and irritability, however, in some moments, they can be directly identified with their opposite characteristics. From depressed depression they are distinguished by a high level of tension, constant and often unreasonable anxiety, heightened sensitivity, restlessness, a desire to move all the time, an inability to concentrate.

They are also characterized by purely physiological manifestations: trembling of the hands, twitching of the face, increased sweating, palpitations, chest pain, headaches, abdominal discomfort, intensifying in a stressful (or seeming) situation. It is interesting that, in contrast to depression, sleep disturbance, characteristic of anxiety, manifests itself not in the early waking up, but in the inability to fall asleep. In addition, anxiety disorders are not characterized by a "gloomy" perception of the world (they are more prone to fear) and thoughts of suicide.
TWO IN ONE
Often anxiety disorders are combined with depression (there is even such a thing as "anxiety-depressive syndrome") and look like a continuous state of anxiety and depression. Both anxious and anxious-depressive disorders are very dangerous, since they can lead to severe damage to the nervous system and serious diseases of the internal organs. And, as in the case of depression, specialist help is needed here, because both psychological and medical help may be required.
RECOGNIZE DEPRESSION
Now thanks to the popularization of this topic, almost any person can diagnose a "depression". But is always a bad mood and nervousness associated with depression, a serious mental illness?
CONDENSED SYMPTOMS
Speaking of depression, it is necessary to pay attention to its main symptom. It is a depressed mood, a pessimistic view of the present and the future. All the characteristics of this disease can be started with the word "decrease". The patient's interests, feelings of joy of life, self-esteem and self-confidence decrease, there is a constant unmotivated sense of guilt. The appetite and muscle tone decrease, fatigue and loss of strength appear. Drowsiness, sleep disturbance (in particular, early awakening - at 3 - 5 o'clock in the morning), constipation, aching headaches, violation of sexual functions, general discomfort in the body torture the depressed person and from a physical point of view. A clear symptom of the disease is obsessive thoughts about death, not only about suicide, but also about the fact that trouble will come to a close.
WHEN TO KICK ALERT
If this condition lasts more than 3 weeks, then it represents a real threat to the psychological and mental well-being of a person, and to the state of his health in general. The oppressed nervous system is not able to competently "direct" the body, which can damage any organ, in particular the heart, brain and gastrointestinal tract.
DISADVANTAGE OR DISEASE
Often, a state of dissatisfaction with the life situation is taken for depression. For example, a person does not like the situation at work or at home, relationships with others or a certain type of activity that is being carried out at the moment. The condition of such a "patient" can not be called constantly depressed (which is inherent in depression). It "exacerbates" solely under the influence of external stimuli and is, as it were, a "cry for help", turned toward the world. Most often these people do not want to change anything in their lives independently, but they want to shift responsibility to someone else. This condition is not a depression, but if it continues for a long time, it may well lead to it. Therefore, having noticed a similar inclination, it is necessary to analyze the real state of affairs, your abilities and desires and try to change your life, even at first it will not be easy.
