Do girls like tall men?

In any attempt to determine the popular opinion of the beautiful half of humanity about the ideal representative (read, lover) of half less beautiful, the result is repeated with enviable constancy.

Nine out of ten women will paint a portrait of a tall, slender, muscular (the color of hair and eyes varies) of men, with the heavy jaw of a movie superman.

What is the reason for such constancy? And do girls like tall men? First, among women, since the ubiquitous dominance of mammoths and other predatory-saber-toothed beasts at subconscious level, the instructions for use have been preserved, which says: the bigger the male, the better he is. In other words, women intuitively prefer those men whom they consider the most fit to survive in our complex world. So, girls from the ancient times like tall men. And this is quite natural. From the high man spread the fluids of strength and confidence. Looking at such a man from the bottom up, burying him in the shoulder or chest, the woman gets an opportunity to relax, feel protected ("like a stone wall" - an old, hackneyed phrase, but how to reflect the essence of things). And from such sweet sensations it is very difficult to get rid of.

Secondly, according to recent studies, human growth is increasing every year. Over the past fifty years, the average increase in men increased by eight centimeters. And over the next fifty years, it is projected to grow by another five centimeters. If you look at the world from the point of view of evolution, high growth can be perceived as a sign of progress, so tall men will soon become a regularity. Any beginning psychologist in two accounts will explain to you the constant and unconscious desire of the fair sex to get offspring from more impeccable males. In addition, high growth for the vast majority of women is one of the main (read, mandatory) signs of sexuality in men. Therefore, it is not surprising that girls like tall men. They believe that a tall guy just has to have an appropriate penis.

Thirdly, there is a heap of the sweetest nonsense, which so irritates men and serves as a breeding ground for glamor apologists. Forums of Internet sites are full of and bursting with reasoning: "I love shoes with heels" or "my tall and slender handsome man and everyone envies me."

And what does science say about this?

Polish and British scientists conducted a number of joint studies, which revealed an interesting pattern. It turns out that tall men are much more likely to get married and have far more children. Whether women are more attracted to high growth, whether tall men are more resolute and enterprising - these researchers have not clarified. It was found out only that the main demographic indicators are not in favor of the undersized. For example, it is established that children who are not having children are 3 to 3.5 centimeters lower (average figures are given) for those who have at least one child, and married men - 2.5 centimeters higher than bachelors.

Funny fact: such studies began to be carried out when it was noticed that in marriage announcements, men indicated their growth only when it exceeded the average.

It is also established (and confirmed by independent studies of Swedish scientists) that in men above average growth, social status and incomes are higher than those of undersized ones. Men whose height exceeded 194 cm higher education received 2-3 times more often than those whose height did not reach 165 cm. And the girls like not only tall men, but also smart ones.

Here is another reason why for most women the choice of a sexual partner is directly related to its growth. It's not a matter of aesthetics, but of bare pragmatism: high growth - excellent education - stable financial security for future offspring.

So it turns out: short-grown men seem to women unworthy of attention. And tall men, on the contrary, like women.
