Many of us unwittingly slow down the pace, passing by the shops with handmade soap. Tender and surprisingly fragrant, it pleases the eye and the sense of smell. Lemon, raspberry, peach, chocolate, vanilla ... Some copies and you want to eat.
If you are just taking the first steps in soap making, the easiest way is to use baby soap as the basis. Natural soap is not cheap, so it is often used as a gift. Fragrant slices serve as a flavor for linen, and some even occupy a place of honor on the shelf for souvenirs and various knickknacks.
Recently there has been a real boom in soap making. It is not surprising, because this occupation is not only extremely exciting, but also useful. Some even manage to turn their hobbies into a source of good money.
Pros of home soap abound:
- It is an environmentally friendly product that consists of components of natural origin;
- This is a huge space for the realization of your imagination, tk. the form and content of soap can be absolutely any;
- this is a significant saving on gifts to relatives, because it's hard to find someone who does not like this unusual and stylish gift.
In order to make soap with their own hands, it is not necessary to have a whole heap of sophisticated components. At first, it will be enough to have a regular baby soap as a base and several ingredients that will be found in any home.
Fillers can be very different. It all depends on the type of skin and the purpose of the soap.
- We add ground coffee - we get an excellent product with exfoliating effect (this soap is perfect for the body, because with regular use it will help in the fight against cellulite).
- Tea tree oil is a popular tool for caring for oily and problem skin, which dries, narrows, and fights inflammation.
- Sensitive skin please the broths of chamomile or string.
- Ylang-ylang oil will promote rejuvenation, without harming even very dry skin.
- For oily skin is perfect for a decoction of marigold.
- And in the summer heat there is nothing more pleasant than the coolness that soap gives with the addition of menthol.
For moisturizing and softening the skin, you can add healing oils (olive, grape, almond, sesame). However, remember that for 100 grams of the original soap, you can add just one teaspoon, otherwise in the end your remedy will not wash well.
A simple way to make natural soap at home
For this we need:
- 100 grams of baby soap without additives,
- 100 gr of milk,
- 1 teaspoon base oil (the most affordable - olive or almond, you can also use apricot or peach),
- additional fillers in small quantities (honey, coffee, cosmetic clay, decoctions, ground grasses, etc.)
- if desired, you can add food colors: fruit or vegetable juices, chocolate or cocoa,
- dishes for a water bath,
- molds for soap (suitable for children's molds, as well as any plastic or ceramic containers, recently very popular are silicone confectionery molds).
- First of all, rubbed soap on a grater (you can use a blender).
- Fill the resulting crumb with milk at room temperature. Instead, you can use decoctions of herbs or water.
- Thoroughly mix, then put on a water bath. The mass should thicken well. Then add the oil, fillers and put for 3 minutes in the microwave (preferably every 30 seconds, remove and mix, achieving a uniform consistency).
- We pour out the future soap on the molds previously lubricated with oil. You can use any container, even plastic cups from yogurt, but silicone bakeware is much more convenient.
- Usually, after a day, the soap should become hard. If this does not happen, do not worry. If it turned out very soft, just put the molds for 2-3 hours in the freezer.
- The finished soap must be carefully removed from the molds and spread out to make it dry and not sticky to the fingers. The drying process can take a couple of weeks or even a month.
