For the manufacture of bows you will need:
- Multicolored ribbons. They can be of different widths, but usually not more than 3 cm, because larger bows will not look very nice on the head of the dog.
- Ribbons for finishing. They are used as decor of the main ribbons, so that the bow is even more beautiful.
- Adhesive for finishing seams or just silicone glue.
- Threads in tone tapes.
- Scissors.
- Needles.
- Matches or a lighter.

- Any round objects, for example, pencils, markers, syringes. They are used to shape the bow.
- Various retainers of the bow. It can be a hair spray, nail polish or gelatin, dissolved to a thick state.

A little bit about the quality of the bow
The bow can be made both by gluing and by sewing. But the first way is not very reliable - in due course it will crumble. If you make bows for your dogs, then you can use this option. But if you are working for a sale, then you need to take care of the quality, so you only need to use stitching. Also pay attention to the quality of the elastic band to which the ribbon is sewn. It should be of excellent quality, do not slip and do not overtighten the hairs. Reliable fastening of tapes and decor is a pledge not only of high quality, but also of profit.
Getting Started
- Cut the main ribbon that defines the color of the bow. If you plan to make a double or triple bow, then cut off 2 or 3 strips, respectively. The length of the first tape is usually about 9 cm, the rest is 1-1.5 cm smaller than the previous one. At this stage, if you want, you can add a braid to decorate a bow, but it is sewn with a thin fishing line so that the latter is practically not visible. The edges of the ribbons are fired with matches, to prevent them from shedding.
- Then the ends of the tape are joined, a little overlapping one on the other, and on the wrong side threaded in a tone. We get rings from ribbons. Then we add the ring, notice the middle and connect it with the seam, make a few stitches, connecting the two halves of the tape. We do not cut the thread, but tighten it, giving the ribbon the shape of a bandage. Similarly we do the second, etc. layers of bow.
- Now we put the bows one on top of the other and stitch it tightly together. At this stage, the hairpin is immediately glued well or an elastic band is sewn.
- In the petals, the bow is pushed into a suitable size with round objects.
- Now we prepare the fixative. We dissolve it to a thick state and apply it to the bow. You can also use a hair spray with a very strong fixation or nail polish and leave until completely dry, remove the "frame".
- We decorate. Take everything that your fantasy tells and begin to create. It is very popular to make drawings with special decorative glue with sparkles or to make beautiful patterns with rhinestones or Swarovski stones. Whatever you come up with, remember that you need to decorate a ready-made bow. If you produce bows in large quantities, then you should buy a special pastern for rhinestones, though it's not cheap. But in principle, you can do with an ordinary soldering iron, only after having trained yourself. To do this, place the bow of the pattern on the bow and begin to glue them. We press the rhinesthesis with a soldering iron for a few seconds, and release it. Nothing will happen to the stone itself. But the glue on the rhinestone will melt and stick it to the bow. It is important not to move the soldering iron during gluing.
