Traditions of meeting young people
It is not necessary to say that before the wedding ritual was strictly regulated. Each action had its time, place and deep sacral meaning. It was necessary to meet the young correctly after the wedding (registry offices were not yet there). In this case, the main role was assigned to parents.
On the threshold of the house a young couple was waiting for the parents of the husband or parents on both sides. Also there were godmothers. In their hands they had a loaf and a special embroidered towel-a towel. The father-in-law and mother-in-law greeted the bride-her new daughter, father-in-law and mother-in-law-a new son. This ritual symbolized the acceptance of the young by their families. After that, the husband and wife were supposed to break off a piece of bread: the bigger piece, the one in the house and the head. Generously salt it and eat, and then drink wine and throw glasses, without turning over, over your shoulder. In some regions, it was customary to go under the towel under the gate, in others - to link the newlyweds with a towel and see off to the place of honor at the table. All these rituals will decorate and modern celebration, for example, a meeting of young people from the registry office in the restaurant.
We meet the newlyweds after the registry office
How is it today to meet young people?
- While the bride and groom are photographed in the halls of the Palace of Marriages, guests go out into the street and form a living corridor at the door. The witness and witness should organize the crowd, distribute petals, etc., glasses, prepare to open champagne.
- As soon as the newlyweds appear on the threshold of the guests under amicable shouts: "Congratulations!", They begin to shower them with rice, pink petals and small coins. It is believed that rice brings prosperity to the house, money - prosperity, and petals - love (besides it's beautiful). It is worth immediately warning those present that it is necessary to throw at your feet, so as not to get young in the face. Coins must find small (not 5 rubles, for sure). Petals are sold in all flower shops, only to order them better in advance.
- Witnesses are already giving out glasses to guests and pouring champagne. Right at the door of the registry office for the bride and groom will sound their first "Bitter!". Young people also drink champagne and can break glasses for happiness.
- Meeting young people from the registry office - a very beautiful and joyful ceremony, it must be imprinted for family video and photo album.
- The final stage - the newlyweds get into the car and go for a walk, guests, as a rule, go to a restaurant. There they are preparing another solemn meeting of the new husband and wife.
