History of origin "Iskander-kebab" According to one of the legends, the name "Iskander-kebab" was received from the great Greek commander Alexander of Macedon. In one of his military campaigns on Anatolia, stopping in one of the villages, Alexander of Macedon ordered him to cook dinner for him. When the servants brought food, the commander took from one dish a thinly chopped lamb of mutton fried meat, put it on a cake, then from the second dish Alexander took lentils and sprinkled meat on it, and then, taking a third dish of yogurt, poured a lamb with lamb.
