History of origin "Iskander-kebab" According to one of the legends, the name "Iskander-kebab" was received from the great Greek commander Alexander of Macedon. In one of his military campaigns on Anatolia, stopping in one of the villages, Alexander of Macedon ordered him to cook dinner for him.
