Maternal Alcoholism and Domestic Violence

Female alcoholism has been a problem of our state for several decades. Every year more and more women start to drink regularly, and in the end, they can no longer overcome cravings for alcohol. Unfortunately, female alcoholism is becoming a problem not only for women themselves, but also for their families and especially for children.

Terrifying statistics

Female alcoholism and violence in families are inextricably linked. It's terrible to imagine, but in 2011 at the hands of their parents 728 children were killed. And only three of these children were adopted. All the others were killed by their own mothers or fathers. And in almost all cases in families of such children, parents used excessive amounts of alcohol.

Violence against children is a very common occurrence in a dysfunctional family. This is not surprising, since in a state of alcoholic intoxication, a person ceases to respond adequately to things and acutely perceives various stimuli. Alcoholism of mothers and domestic violence are the main reason why children enter hospitals and then go to orphanages. Unfortunately, the law can not properly stop such horrible things, because by law such parents receive a short period of time or are eliminated by correctional labor. Often, such mothers are not interested in their children at all. And violence against the child is prompted by such simple requests as to give food or to sleep.

Mother's beating of children

Most mothers are beaten by children who can not yet stand up for themselves - that is, infants and toddlers of preschool age. It is not uncommon for cases when such violence leads to a coma. The alcoholic woman is very irritable, so she does not realize what she is doing. This results in numerous injuries that are inflicted on the child by hands, feet and various objects.

Of course, it is she who is not always the instigators of fights in the family of a woman drinking. There are many cases when children are mocked by her cohabitants or drinking companions. In this case, women themselves either suffer from beatings, or in no way counteract men, because they do not want to get "under the hot hand". In such cases, it is not uncommon for children to be beaten up, but also for rape.

Such situations are rarely known in families, since screams and abuse are often heard from the apartments of alcoholics. Neighbors do not pay attention, because this is already common. As a result, every year more than ten thousand children become mutilated or die.

Violence in the family of a non-drinking woman can be unintentional. This happens when the child is injured due to an oversight. Most often, babies fall out of beds, spill hot liquids on themselves or drop out of windows. In this case, the legislation prescribes correctional labor or conditional terms. By the way, if there are other children in such families, parents are almost never deprived of parental rights. They receive a child allowance and continue to drink without spending a penny on the child.

Female alcoholism is much more terrible than the male, since children of alcoholic mothers often have no fathers and no one to take them from the house in which they are bullied. Of course, it is very good when there are grandmothers or grandfathers who can save a child from an inadequate mother in time, who does not understand what she is doing at all. With a woman in a drunken intoxication it is much more difficult to negotiate than with a man. Often, she falls into hysterics and begins to drive away anger on the irritant, which is the child.

A person in a state of intoxication becomes insane, so it is impossible to conduct an adequate conversation with him, convince him of anything, and so on. That is why it is impossible in any way to normalize relations in the family where there is a drinking person, especially when they are a mother. The only solution is to forcefully encode or immediately deny parental rights. But, unfortunately, there are no such measures in the legislation, so tens of thousands of children suffer and die at the hands of their parents every year.
