Mumiye: properties and methods of treatment

The word "mummy" is now heard. We began to write a lot about this remedy as a miracle balm, starting from the 60s of the last century. And to this day, scientists continue to study this tool, discovering all its new healing properties. So, the mummy: the properties and methods of treatment - the topic of conversation for today.

About this substance in the Large Dictionary of the Russian language under the editorship of SA Kuznetsov, one can read: "Mumiye is a biologically active pitch-like substance of natural origin, resulting from clefts of rocks used in folk medicine." What is the mummy and what is the origin of this curative substance, "flowing from the crevices of the rocks"?

The mummy is a bitter taste of a dark brown or black solid with a shiny surface. The mummy has a specific resinous smell, softens from the heat of the hands, dissolves in the water. It must be said that the first descriptions of the mummy are contained in the writings of Aristotle, and since then many hypotheses of its origin have appeared. The appearance of the mummy (sometimes called "mountain wax", "rock sweat", "glue stone"), some scientists associated with the processes that occur in the bowels of the earth. However, after years of observation and research, the scientists concluded that the mummy is not a mountain balsamic substance associated with the formation of rocks. Mumiye is an organic substance that is a product of processing plants by herbivores. The composition of the mummy includes a large number of organic and inorganic substances: hippuric and benzoic acids, amino acids, resins and waxes, gums, plant remains, a wide range of trace elements - up to 50 medicinal components selected by nature itself, present in mumiyo.

Analyzes showed that the excrement of rodents living in the mountains, by chemical composition, practically does not differ from mummies. This led to the idea of obtaining a mummy in an artificial way. Then the scientists conducted a laboratory experiment, which involved high-altitude silver voles. They were given as feed for plants that were seen in places of education mummies. The products of the voles of the voles were boiled, filtered, evaporated and a dark, shiny substance resembling a mummy was obtained, but it differed from the natural by its physical, chemical and pharmacological properties.

As in the natural, and in the laboratory mummy lies a huge healing power, obtained from a wide variety of mountain herbs. But the natural mummy, of course, is more healthful. The fact is that high in the mountains rarefied air with low oxygen content, sharp temperature changes, high solar activity and soils with low humidity reduce the activity of microorganisms that ensure the decomposition of organic remains. And at the same time, conditions are created in which biomasses of animal and vegetable origin do not collapse over time, but are mummified, forming a natural mummy.

Thus, Avicenna in the Canon of Medical Science wrote: "Mountain wax in the form of drinking and rubbing is a wonderful remedy for pain in case of dislocation, fracture, from falling and striking." Today it is scientifically confirmed that when the mummy is exposed to the body, mineral metabolism is intensified, as a result of which the healing of bone fractures is accelerated - bone callus is formed 8-17 days earlier than usual. In addition, the mummy has a bactericidal and bacteriostatic effect, increases immunity, and also has a diuretic and laxative effect
