Red lentils with carrots and curry Lentil is considered the most environmentally friendly product of all existing - it does not accumulate nitrates and other harmful substances. Therefore, in the kitchens of many peoples it has long been loved and used for cooking a wide variety of dishes - soups, side dishes, mashed potatoes, salads. Especially it is useful for diabetics. And the way of cooking lentils and the time required for this depends mainly on its variety. For example, from green French lentils, it will not be possible to cook mashed potatoes - it practically does not boil, but it takes quite a bit of time to prepare red Egyptian lentils. Red lentils with carrots and curry are a great dish that you can serve yourself or as a garnish. Cook it much faster than peas or beans - lentils do not need pre-soaking. It can even not be salted, if you are not allowed to use a large amount of salt - a dish and so it will turn out very tasty. It can be eaten without bread - red lentils can replace bread and many cereals: it is very nutritious, and at the same time it is perfectly absorbed by the body.
Ingredients:- Lentil red 200 g
- Carrot 2 pcs.
- Onions 1 pc.
- Raisin light 2 handful
- Cognac 1 tbsp. l.
- Curry 1.5 tsp.
- Cinnamon ground 0.5 tsp.
- Sunflower refined sunflower oil 3 tbsp. l.
- Water 1.5 tbsp.
- Pepper black ground 1 pinch
- Salt 1 pinch
- Step 1 To make a porridge you need a glass of red lentils, carrots, onions, raisins, cognac, hammer cinnamon and curry.
- Step 2 Cut the carrots into quarters, and the onions into cubes.
- Step 3 A couple of handfuls of raisins pitted pour 1 tbsp. l. cognac and 2 tbsp. l. water and leave to infuse.
- Step 4 In a deep frying pan heat the vegetable oil and fry the onions with carrots until the onions are transparent.
- Step 5 Then add washed lentils, curry, ground cinnamon, raisins and 1.5 cups of water.
- Step 6 Cook stirring over medium heat until the lentils become soft, approximately 10-15 minutes (if the lentils are still solid, then pour in another 0.5 st water). In the finished porridge add salt and black ground pepper to taste.
