Proper nutrition for school children

It is proved that at school age a person perceives and remembers the most information. In order for the brain to cope with this amount of work, it needs constant replenishment, which the body takes from carbohydrates. And the child just needs to move, run and play - this also requires energy.
The only source of nutrients and energy is food. And if your child does not want to eat, there are school breakfasts (maybe they are not in your school at all) or limited to harmful chips and chocolates, then its development may slow down. In this case, every mother should think about preparing the school breakfast herself.

How to prepare a "snack" for a child?
There are two simple rules: in the diet of a schoolboy must necessarily be calcium and carbohydrates. In practice, it is milk or dairy products and a sandwich sandwich.

Dairy products are a source of calcium.

Everyone knows that for proper nutrition and growth of a schoolboy, bone and teeth health requires calcium. But not everyone remembers that calcium is also needed for the propagation of nerve impulses along the body. If calcium is not enough, there is a nervous tension, irritability, a child may begin to have insomnia. Calcium is a natural sedative.

The greatest amount of calcium is necessary for children from 9 to 18 years. The daily norm is 1300 mm (approximately 4 servings of dairy products a day). One serving is 2 glasses of milk or yogurt, 2 pieces of cheese or 150 g of cottage cheese.

Do not replace the natural milk with chocolate, curd - sweet, curdled mass. Calcium and sugar are incompatible! Buy baby dairy products with only natural taste.

A sandwich sandwich is a source of carbohydrates.

A bit of dietology: carbohydrates are complex and simple. The first group includes cereals, flour products, legumes. Simple carbohydrates include sugar and honey.
The final product of decomposition of carbohydrates is glucose - the only source of nutrition for the brain. During mental work the brain consumes a huge amount of glucose, and if it is not enough, the body receives a signal: it is necessary to eat. And the first thing that a man wants is sweets, because the sugar contained in them refers to simple carbohydrates, and therefore quickly decays to the necessary glucose. Hence, a schoolboy has a craving for sweets, for chocolates and waffles, which are easy to buy near the school.

Naturally, nothing excessive can consuming sugar. About the problems of caries, obesity and diabetes are heard by everyone. Therefore, the task of parents is to prepare a breakfast that contains as many complex carbohydrates as possible (they are absorbed more slowly and nourish the brain with glucose longer).

"Bread is the head for everything". This proverb is applicable to school breakfasts. It is in the bread contains the optimal amount of complex carbohydrates "for snacking", and it is better to choose bread from whole grains: it contains more vitamins and minerals.
The amount of bread is also important: the optimal portion of food is 2 pieces, so a sandwich is preferable to a sandwich.

The filling is not the main thing: you can use pates, salads, cheeses, vegetables, etc. It is not suitable as a filling of sausage, there is too much fat, salt and preservatives in it, which is harmful to an adult, not to mention the growing body of a schoolboy.

So, in the children's diet should always be calcium and carbohydrates, so the ideal option for proper nutrition for schoolchildren is a bag of natural milk or yogurt and a sandwich. This "snack" will appeal to any child, and parents will not take unnecessary forces for cooking, and at a cost will not be detrimental to the family budget.
