According to one of the provisions pilaf is an invention of Alexander of Macedon, who was picky in food and loved spicy food. According to another legend, pilaf was widely distributed among the inhabitants of the east from very old times, as evidenced by written sources. Thus, for example, the first mention of pilaf is found in the pages of the annals of the 10th and 11th centuries. And there is even a legend about how Avicenna used a dish of rice and meat to heal a noble lord. Subsequently, the famous scientist and dubbed a dish of rice as pilaf. I propose a recipe-variation on the theme of the oriental dish Gelak Palava - rice with meatballs.
Ingredients:- Beef minced 500 g
- Beef broth 350 ml
- Long grain rice 250 g
- Onions 1 pc.
- Canned peas 250 g
- Sunflower refined sunflower oil 100 ml
- Pepper black ground 2 pinch
- Salt 2 pinch
- Garlic 4 denticles
- Zira (Cumin) dry 0.5 tsp.
- Yogurt 200 ml
- Fresh mint 0.25 bunch
- Garlic 3 denticles
- Pickled cucumbers 2 pcs.
- Salt 1 pinch
- Pepper black ground 1 pinch
- Step 1 Main ingredients: minced meat, onions, rice, peas, broth, garlic, mint, zira, yogurt, black pepper and sunflower oil.
- Step 2 Soak the rice for 30 minutes.
- Step 3 In the mince we add the chopped onion, ground pepper and salt. Then mix.
- Step 4 From the stuffing we form meatballs.
- Step 5 Fry the meatballs in warmed sunflower oil until done (35-40 minutes).
