The list of diseases for which PGD is possible today is increasing day by day. The most common are muco-viscidosis, hemophilia, thalassemia, Down's disease. In the near future, everyone will be able to undergo genetic testing. If the mutations responsible for the hereditary disease are identified, future parents will be able to undergo PGD. Genetic analysis of embryos will allow to select sick embryos and transfer only healthy to the uterus of the mother.
