Soda - a delicious drink with bubbles

"Buy a cola," - asks the kid, and my mother categorically refuses: it is very tasty, but they say it is not entirely useful. About this drink so many horrors have been invented, that you do not know which first to check with doctors. According to the legends, sweet water with bubbles can dissolve our teeth in a glass, make us look like three fat people combined, and throw into the clutches of all possible ailments. Is this really so and what does the legendary soda actually consist of - a tasty drink with bubbles?

Water procedures

The basis of all the soda - a delicious drink with bubbles, is water. It is very important to understand which water the drink is made on. The fact is that in Ukraine, and in other countries, most of the surface sources are somehow contaminated, and only artesian water is clean only, because it flows so deep underground that it is reliably protected from contamination from the environment. For the production of pouring a few soda, the producers working on the Ukrainian market use water of artesian origin. This can be said about the cola: for its preparation, the water of the Senomap and Jurassic horizons is used, which lie at a depth of 220 and 390 meters, respectively.

Fragrant blues

Any sweet fizzy drink is based on fruit or, like a cola, on a spicy-aromatic base, for which extracts from natural spices and plant extracts are used. In a soda - a delicious drink with bubbles contains a lot of sugar, so it is not recommended to drink a drink in large quantities.

Flavors - an integral component of sweet carbonated water, and their naturalness is no less important than the origin of water. They are natural or identical to natural. Of course, when choosing a carbonated drink, dieticians and nutritionists advise you to follow the rule: look for natural ingredients on the label.

Sweet-sweet

There is an opinion, from sweet water with bubbles we get better because of the presence of sugars in its composition. But even for people suffering from diabetes or obesity, nutritionists allow the consumption of sugar or other refined carbohydrates in an amount up to 10% of the caloric content of a daily diet. 200 ml of carbonated water usually contains about 20 mg of simple carbohydrates. If we take into account that the brain and the nervous system need glucose - about 150-200 g per day, then bubbling can, at least partially satisfy these requests. For example, the amount of sugar in a cola is the same as in natural apple or orange juices. And sugar - natural, obtained from domestic sugar beet. To give the drink the right color, usually dye is added to the soda. Pay attention to the origin of the dyes indicated on the label - it is important that they are natural. For example, a dark brown color gives a natural dye obtained by caramelizing sugar. Today it is widely used in the production of bakery products, soups, sauces, syrups, puddings.

Mysterious bubbles

The carbonated drink would not be so attractive and to taste, and in appearance without bubbles of carbon dioxide (CO2). Add it not only for taste, but also for safety. A person who drinks a soda gets an extra charge of vivacity precisely because of these bubbles. Carbon dioxide briefly activates the respiratory center in a certain area of the brain. Therefore, after a glass of sweet fizzy drink we feel not only freshness of taste, but also cheerfulness. In addition, CO, in the composition of the drink helps to quench your thirst. This method was invented by the Englishman Joseph Priestley back in 1772, proposing to saturate the sweet waters with this gas.

With light acidity

Regulators of acidity: ascorbic, citric, malic, orthophosphoric acids. The latter is part of the cola and gives a pleasant tartness to the drink. Few people know that orthophosphorus is a source of mineral phosphorus, which is necessary for the human body for energy metabolism. Acidic index of orthophosphoric acid varies within the limits of 2.5-4 pH, as in sour milk, juices and wines. It is several times lower than the level of normal acidity of human gastric juice, so it is safe for the body. But there is also the myth that sweet soda can destroy teeth. However, any beverages quickly move through the oral cavity into the esophagus. When there are no more of them in the mouth, the minerals Ca, P contained in the saliva are taken for the restoration of the enamel. Well, the rules of oral care have not been canceled yet.

Caffeine Paradise

Caffeine is a natural substance found in more than 50 plants. Its small amount is in 30 mg of tea from a sachet or a glass of cola. It is designed to enhance the taste of other components, to tone up the work of the nervous system, brain and muscles, to activate metabolism. Caffeine improves intestinal peristalsis, in a word, helps food to move faster through the gastrointestinal tract.

To drink or not to drink? Is there a rate of drinking sweet soda for an adult?

This amount is individual. A healthy adult can consume up to one liter of carbonated water per day. Talk to the nutritionist, he will calculate your total need for fluids and the energy value of the diet, depending on the level of your physical activity. People with peptic ulcer, gastritis with high acidity should limit the consumption of sweet soda water.

Is it possible to drink soda for children?

It is necessary to control the volume of sweet soda in the menu of children with excessive body weight and the violation of carbohydrate metabolism (diabetes mellitus). For healthy children, these drinks are safe. It is quite acceptable if a child older than three years will drink a bottle of sweet soda (0.33 liters). Soda is important to alternate with drinks that have a higher nutritional value - juices and milk drinks. As for soda, the choice should be made in favor of one that contains natural ingredients.
