The safest cosmetics

Every year, we see a pleasant picture, cosmetic products are increasingly being improved, as scientists invent complex synthetic products, get natural components from minerals and plants, and also investigate the impact of new components on the human body in detail.

Is cosmetics safe, which we use or not? This issue remains relevant not for nothing, the scientists came to the conclusion that not all components used in the formulations of cosmetics will not be harmful.

We can assume that the safest cosmetics are the recipes of our grandmothers, such as a mask of whipped cream or "cream" made from fat geese. But these miracle potions have one big disadvantage, they quickly deteriorate because of the lack of preservatives in them. In addition, these funds are not very effective, and any woman wants to change immediately, and the transformation came as soon as possible. Naturally, these miracles take place without harm to health. Is it realistic?

Can manufacturers guarantee that a beautiful anti-wrinkle cream will not cause, for example, an allergic reaction? How is cosmetics tested for safety?

First you need to find out what is safe cosmetics. After all, any cosmetic products can not be absolutely safe. It would be strange to assume that when dyeing hair or removing freckles, our skin does not experience any discomfort.

The best option is that the tissues quickly and without negative losses will return to normal after these beauty procedures. We can assume that the manufacturer means that in the finished product there are no possible negative factors of influence on human health, and of course, various harmful microbes - if we observe the shelf life of the product. Toxic and irritant components should not be at all. Plus to all this, safe cosmetics should not pollute the environment.

So who and what guarantees us? All for a long time already have ceased to trust on all 100% to praise of sellers in shop, after all in production of known firms craftsmen have learned to put not only dog fat, but even rosin.

But to our certain relief, forgers can sell their products mainly from a tray or on the market, and a specialty store or a pharmacy is a guarantee that we bought a real firm rather than a fake. Here we will buy more, but the quality is somehow guaranteed.

All well-known cosmetic companies do not spare investments for the development of innovative products, they value the prestige of their brand and do not ignore the possible risks of the buyer. Thanks to this, we can be sure that toxic plants, or components of cow tissues or hormones (they are used only in certain medical products) do not get into this cream. European laws have long determined that the manufacturer is fully responsible for its products.

In Ukraine, for example, there is mandatory certification or licensing of cosmetics - this applies to both domestic and imported products. In this regard, in Ukraine there are more than ten laws that regulate the turnover of cosmetic products, Ukrmetrteststandart, and other state bodies of special purpose follow the implementation of these laws.

Ukrmetrteststandard applies certain requirements:

- products must be completely safe for the life and health of the buyer (tests are conducted at the Institute of Ecology and Toxicology of Ukraine);

- On the cosmetic means, the marking, the name and location of the manufacturing company, the country, the mass (volume) of the cosmetic product, the expiry date, and warnings for using the product are required.

By the way, testing for safety in the Institute of Ecology and Toxicology of Ukraine is held at the highest level. Fortunately, there are special devices that determine the composition of the cosmetic product and its features when exposed to heat, cold, etc.

The domestic producer in most cases prefers denatured alcohol, and in the West - use methyl alcohol, and it is known to be a real poison for a person who causes irreparable harm to human health.

Tests on the content of toxins and their effects on humans are conducted in a special toxicological unit, the products are tested on animals (guinea pigs, rabbits, rats). Animal welfare societies are categorically against this method of testing, but, unfortunately, to date, animal tests are the only way to know how dangerous (safe) the substances used in the product are.

In Europe, there is already a practice of testing cosmetics on human volunteers, we have no such law.

But to completely protect a person from the harmful effects of cosmetics is impossible, if it is used for other purposes or according to instructions. Therefore it is necessary to observe the basic rules when choosing a cosmetic.

It should also be borne in mind that cosmetics sold in stores are generally intended for normal skin and hair, in any other case, use medicinal and special remedies after consultation with the doctor. Cosmetics can bring great discomfort when it is used for other purposes. Instructions should also be strictly observed, before using a new cosmetic product (especially with regard to hair dye), it is advisable to perform a small test, and only after waiting for the result, begin the application.

Store cosmetic products in specially designed conditions for it, and be sure to monitor the expiration date. We advise not to buy cosmetics in shops that do not have a quality certificate, and also have a place for special storage.

To our shame, when buying cosmetics, we often forget to include intelligence, buy it on the run, and the price plays a major role for us.

It is sad! Why, when we buy a car, clothes, furniture - do we consult in advance with anyone? Cosmetics we put on a single and unique person. After all, we want it to look great, it remains beautiful and healthy always, right?
