What is the peculiarity of nutrition in this disease? Only a specialist can develop an individual diet program, relying on the stage of disease progression, on the presence of existing diseases, on the peculiarities of metabolism, on the age of the patient.
Let us give an example. At the stage of disease progression, a therapeutic diet is prescribed for three weeks, which could provide a chemical and mechanical sparing effect on the digestive system, which could create the greatest rest in the intestines and liver. The protein content in a physiologically complete protein and carbohydrate diet is limited to 70-75 grams. In the presence of diarrheal phenomena (diarrhea, nausea, constipation, bloating) the amount of fat is limited to 50 grams. The diet is enriched with products, which contain a large number of lipotropic substances and proteins. First of all, psoriasis diet should include cottage cheese and other dairy products, as well as vitamins contained in vegetables, fruits, berries (you can make juice). It should be remembered that in sugar, jam, honey contain digestible carbohydrates, so their number should not exceed the physiological norm.
It is very useful to enrich the therapeutic diet with sea products, for example, sea cabbage, squid. Particularly useful are these products in ischemic heart disease (coronary atherosclerosis) with increased blood coagulability. If there is a tendency to constipation, sea kale is useful. The diet for psoriasis should also include foods and meals that include wheat bran, it is useful to use special dietary products intended for patients with atherosclerosis.
If psoriasis is benign, and there are no functional changes in the digestive system, then the food restrictions will not be as stringent: the exclusion of fatty varieties of meat, smoked foods, spices, hot snacks, butter and puff pastry. It will be necessary to change the diet, now you must eat a day 5-6 times, portions should be small, this will help reduce your appetite. This can be achieved if low-calorie foods are introduced between the main meals, mainly natural fruits and vegetables: cabbage, carrots, turnips, swede, apples.
Any alcoholic beverages are inadmissible, even a small amount of alcohol will bring to nothing all your works, because alcohol drastically reduces self-control over eating, negatively affects the nervous system, adversely affects the detoxifying function of the liver.
It will be useful in the week 1-2 times to spend unloading days, promoting the restructuring of the exchange, and creating a rest of the overexcited pancreas.
Unloading days:
- Meat - 400 grams of boiled beef we eat in 5 receptions (meat does not salt). Additionally twice a day we eat 100 grams of garnish (as a garnish use cabbage, raw cabbage, carrots, cucumbers) and drink 2 cups of weak, unsweetened tea or broth of wild rose;

- Apple - during the day we eat 1, 5 kilograms of apples, it is better to take acid varieties of apples. The liquid is not added.
- Vegetable - throughout the day we eat 1, 5 kilograms of vegetables (except potatoes). Vegetables are better to put out and divide into 5 receptions. In addition, we drink 2 cups of unsweetened, not strong tea or broth of a dogrose.
Fruit and vegetable diet at this stage of psoriasis will be very effective.
Approximate fruit and vegetable diet:
- The first breakfast - a salad of carrots, fresh cabbage, apples with the addition of vegetable oil (10 grams), 200 grams of hot decoction of rose hips;
- The second breakfast - 100 ml of any fruit juice, vegetable puree;
- Lunch - vegetable salad with the addition of vegetable oil or sour cream (10 grams), 250 grams of vegetarian soup, 100 grams of nuts;
- Snack - a decoction of wild rose, meringed beets or carrots;
- Dinner - 200 ml of compote or juice (compote can be made from dried fruits), vinaigrette with 10 grams of vegetable oil, 30 grams of sugar a day (you can use xylitol instead of sugar), bread is salt-free (flour should be coarsely ground).
