Three principles of proper nutrition during pregnancy

Having learned about pregnancy, a woman usually revises her own menu and seeks to get rid of harmful gastronomic predilections. But the radical change in the dietary regime is not so harmless - it can lead to nervous breakdown, apathy, shortage, or overweight. To avoid such unpleasant consequences, it is necessary to adhere to the basic rules of nutrition during pregnancy. This is, first of all, the amount of food. Contrary to popular belief, "for two" is not necessary at all, it's enough to follow the variety of diet and the correct ratio of proteins, fats and carbohydrates. Exception - clear and unambiguous recommendations of the doctor.

Nutritional regimen is no less important - a future mother should take note of fractional meals with obligatory hearty breakfasts and lunches. The optimal interval between meals is three to four hours. Snacks fast food or sandwiches are best avoided - they will not replace useful side dishes, fish and meat dishes.

Vitamin complexes - a necessary element of the pregnant diet - they provide the mother's body with active substances for the full development of the fetus. Particular attention should be paid to preparations containing iron, folic acid, magnesium, calcium and iodine.
