Types of bad habits

Speaking of bad habits, we usually mean smoking, addiction to alcohol and drug addiction. But this is not entirely correct. All of the above - it's not habits, and pathological dependence (as, indeed, gambling, internet-eating, overeating, etc.) But we, for the sake of public opinion, consider them as bad habits in more detail.

In fact, the list of bad habits can not be made up - it will be endless. Someone used to turn a pen in his hands, someone picks at the nose, and someone bitches his lips until blood. The most common (except pathological, as mentioned above) bad habits - this is foul language, picking the skin, shopologolizm, picking in the nose, spitting, clicking joints.

Addiction

Addicts are next to us, but we hardly know about them - these attachments are usually carefully hidden. This habit is formed imperceptibly and very quickly. At first, drugs are chosen as a means to relieve some discomfort (shyness, fear, stress, pain), but soon they become an irresistible need.

Over time, chemicals literally sprout into every cell of the brain, contributing to the growth of apathy, noticeable blunting of attention and clouding of the mind. Addiction kills a person first as a person, and then physically. A person turns into a plain-looking creature that does not have an appetite and looks horrible, has lost even the signs of a particular sex.

Alcoholism

Alcoholic intoxication introduces the brain into total forgetfulness. The person stops to think clearly, the work of his mind changes direction: first, as it were, "the soul opens," then incredible thoughts and bold desires come, and when using a fair dose, the brain practically turns off. Strangely enough, it is for this reason that people resort to regular use of alcohol. However, there is another reason: the desire to have a great time, have some fun, some drink "from nothing to do" or from stress, and teenagers have the main reason to drink - keep up with "advanced" friends. Then everything happens as with drug addiction: there is a persistent addiction, and then an acute pathological dependence.

Tobacco smoking

Not everyone who suffers from smoking addiction likes this process. Paradox: there are people who tend to dislike the taste of a cigarette, but they can not do without it. This is an acute psychological (not physical - it is proven) dependence on smoking.

There are four main reasons that can push a person to addiction to a cigarette: constant stress, loyalty to a psychological "ritual," smoking with someone "for a company", from "nothing to do" or to gain an imaginary confidence. This habit can progress in different people at different rates. Over time, it flows into a disease of varying severity, and its degree depends directly on the number of cigarettes smoked per day.

Internet surfing

Nowadays, more and more people celebrate the symptoms of so-called "internet-mania" - a bad habit or illness that has appeared due to the extensive spread of the Internet. It is quite difficult to clearly distinguish between simple entertainment and communication in the network and unhealthy, uncontrollable interest in the Internet and simply to the computer.

According to statistics, 90% of people who are "hanging on the Internet" for a long time are regular participants of various forums and numerous dating sites. Over time, this harmful habit can become destructive, when a person for the sake of the Internet leaves his real life and almost ceases to exist real, terrestrial existence. A bad habit becomes a disease when a person can not sleep at night and work normally, spends all the money on the Internet, while completely forgetting about the family and loved ones.

gambling addiction

It is officially included in the International Classification of Diseases and has a second name - "ludomania". Anyone can infect it, regardless of social status and place in society. Modern gambling establishments are designed for people with a relatively low or medium income. Ludomans are divided into two types: fugitives (people who depart from reality and looking for thrill) and gambling people who are able to control themselves, but believing that the loser must necessarily and can recoup.
