Unusual models of the Fashion Week in New York

The fact that recently more and more often professional models or even show business stars are coming to the best podiums of the world, but ordinary people "from the street" are already becoming the norm. Do not surprise spectators of fashion shows and the appearance in the parade of nonprofessional models of clearly unmodified appearance.

But the most courageous designers go even further - they invite people with disabilities as mannequins. Fashion Week in New York has become a kind of challenge to a prosperous society, forcing it once again to pay attention to those members who for one reason or another require special treatment or, on the contrary, despite their injuries, want to be full of "normal" .

So, in the fashion show of designer Kerry Hammer took part actress Jamie Brewer, known for the film "American history of horror", as well as the fact that she suffers from Down's syndrome. The fashion designer sewed an outfit specifically for Jamie, who stepped onto the podium to show her companions the misfortune that their diagnosis is not a sentence of eternal isolation. People with Down syndrome can lead an active social life and even shine on fashion shows. By the way, Kerry Hammer is not the first time inviting people with disabilities to her show - last year she was shown a girl in a wheelchair.

Nina Performo also brought to the podium a girl who was recently completely paralyzed. 18-year-old Megan Silcott from Maryland one morning could not get out of bed - a sharp disseminated encephalomyelitis, it seemed, forever bound to a hospital bed a girl who had not previously thought herself without movement and sport. The professionalism of the doctors and the dedication of Megan made a miracle - she went out to the podium with a walker, but on her own feet. And one more brand - Antonio Urzi - was presented at this Fashion Week as an unusual model. Jack Ayrs defile on one leg and prosthesis, demonstrating the magnificent physique that he achieved through fitness and his character.
