Varicose veins, treatment methods

Varicose veins are called enlarged veins, translucent through the skin in the form of knotted crimped bands. The veins are the blood vessels through which blood flows to the heart. The return flow of blood is impeded by the valves in the veins. When they weaken (usually in the legs where they are most stressed), the outflow of blood is disturbed and it accumulates in the veins. The veins expand, lose elasticity and form knots. Women (especially pregnant women) suffer from varicose veins twice as often as men. The risk of this disease is increased in those who spend a lot of time on their feet.

Swollen, gnarled veins of bluish color give an unattractive appearance to the most beautiful legs, and besides, they ache and itch. Those who are very anxious to get rid of them should consult a doctor: at the disposal of modern medicine there are effective and safe methods of combating this disorder (injections of chemicals causing wrinkling of veins, surgical operations, etc.). There are, however, also milder ways to stop the pathological process and make varicose veins less noticeable. How about putting your feet on the wall first?
HEALING STRETCHES.
Lay down on your back, on the couch or sit in a chair, lifting your legs above the level of the heart. Varicosis occurs as a result of a violation of the outflow of blood through the veins, and when you lift your legs up, the accumulated blood freely rushes to your heart. At home, periodically do this exercise according to all the rules. At work, lift your legs, as far as decency allows, more comfortable reclining in a chair or in a chair.
The following simple yoga exercise requires more physical activity: lie on your back against the wall and, without bending your knees, rest in it with the soles of your feet so that your feet are at an angle of 45 degrees to the floor. Lie in this position for 3 minutes, making equal and deep sighs.
USEFUL ADDITIVES.
Within three months, take 250 mg of horse chestnut twice a day. A popular folk remedy for varicose veins, readily recommended by modern doctors, horse chestnut improves the elasticity of blood vessels and strengthens the valves inside the veins. Beginning with the fourth month of treatment, take horse chestnut once a day.
Three times a day, take 200 mg of fungus of Asian. This herb increases the strength of the vascular walls and strengthens the surrounding vein connective tissue. Italian scientists have shown that taking iridovirus preparations with varicose patients significantly improved the functioning of the veins on the legs.
Add lemon peel to teas and other beverages. It contains rutin - a flavonoid, which reduces the outflow of liquid from the capillaries into the veins.
Every day, take vitamin C. It strengthens and makes the connective tissues that support the veins more elastic. Daily dose of at least 500 mg and not more than 3000 mg of vitamin: if diarrhea occurs, reduce dosage.
Compounds known as oligomeric proanthocyanidin complexes (OPCs) strengthen blood vessels and reduce their permeability to liquids. As it was shown in one study, the state of varicose veins improved in 75% of patients taking DIC, and only in 41% of patients who did not take these compounds. The daily dose of OPK is 150-300 mg, but these substances are rich in some foods, such as cranberries, blueberries and blueberries.
CONTRAST SHOWER FOR FEET.
Pour your feet with hot and cold water. The alternating effects of heat and cold cause blood vessels to expand and contract, and this improves blood circulation. Taking a shower, make the water hot and pour her feet, one - three minutes. Then turn on the cold water and apply the same amount of time to the feet with cold. Repeat the procedure three times, ending it with cold dousing.
SUPPORT FROM THE EXTERNAL.
If varicose veins are small, put on a pair of elastic supporting stockings, pantyhose in the morning. They will clench their legs, and prevent further expansion of the veins. Medical compression stockings can be bought at pharmacies.
If the varicose veins are large, you will need stockings or pantyhose with graduated compression. They are very tightly fitting legs in the ankles and somewhat more free in the legs. This difference in pressure helps the blood flow from foot to heart. Do not buy stockings that squeeze the legs weakly, they have to squeeze their legs with such force that they can hardly be tolerated. Women are best suited for therapeutic tights. Many companies produce special pantyhose with graded compression for pregnant women, expanded in the abdomen and waist.
HIGH BLOOD!
Long stand or sit for you is harmful! When you sit or stand for a long time, blood accumulates in your legs.
If you get a free minute, dedicate it to walking. Moving your feet, you help the blood flow through the veins to the heart.
Whether you work, sitting or standing, take an interval about an hour and work with your feet. 10 minutes rise and fall on the toes to practice the calves. As the calf muscles abut the veins, contracting, they will squeeze the blood vessels and force blood from them to the heart.
In whatever position you sit, never put one foot on the other. Throwing a foot on the leg, you squeeze the veins and block the outflow of blood to the heart.
Three times a week, do aerobic exercises lasting at least 20 minutes: they will help you stay in shape or lose some weight. Excess weight of the body lays additional burden on the veins of your legs. For varicose veins, walking is especially useful: by contracting the muscles of your legs, you help the vessels drive blood to the heart.
Easy massage of the legs or other areas of the body with varicose compresses, moistened with strong tea from the bark of oak white. Apparently, the bark stimulates blood circulation.
FIGHT AGAINST.
Your diet should include foods rich in fiber, - apples, carrots, beans and green peas. They will help you get rid of constipation, and this will reduce the burden on the veins and improve the outflow of blood from the legs.
DO I NEED A PHYSICIAN?
Varicose veins represent for their owners a moral rather than a medical problem. Refer, however, to a doctor if ulcers or hair fall out on the skin over varicose veins. Immediately go to the doctor if a vein ruptures and it bleeds or if you start to feel pain while walking. Edema, soreness and redness of one or both legs may indicate the formation of blood clots (thrombi) in the veins. Having noticed these symptoms, immediately consult a doctor.
DID YOU KNOW?
With varicose it is useful to wear shoes without heels or at low heels no more than 5 centimeters. In such shoes you have to constantly reduce and relax the calf muscles, which helps the veins to drive blood from the legs to the heart.
DO NOT!
If your veins are dilated and by the end of the day your legs ache from fatigue, do not be tempted to sit in a hot bath! The contrast shower goes to the veins for good, but from a long stay in hot water, varicose vessels can expand even more.
