3 problems of school adaptation and ways to solve them

The counted days are left until your baby sits down for his first school desk. Pride, curiosity, joy of learning new - the precious emotions of childhood. How can they not be overshadowed by unexpected difficulties? How to behave to parents? Teachers and psychologists give practical recommendations.

Avoid pressure, do not overdo the training load. Often parents tend to set a high tempo from the first days of school: careful preparation of lessons, additional classes and development circles throughout the day. Even if your first-grader is mobile and energetic, he will still need time to adapt to unusual conditions. And if the baby has a tendency to neuroses and fatigue, but no experience of being in kindergarten - boldly increase the adaptation period in half. In the first months, create a child sparing regimen, gradually increasing the hours of classes.

Arrange the priorities correctly. Of course, studying is important. But do not make it the main meaning of the baby's life, leveling the rest of her. "All you need is for you to study well" is a wrong position. Prepare the baby in advance to the fact that it is important for him to try - but your love for him is unchanged and does not depend on success. And be ready to confirm your words: affection, a smile or encouraging words.

Do not overestimate the degree of "adulthood" of a child. Yesterday he was fiddling in the sandbox, and now he is trying on a school uniform - but, nevertheless, he still remains a toddler. Do not demand too much from him at once, do not pull it off constantly, do not scare with responsibility - talk more often, explain, joke about everything that bothers him.
