There are several time periods when each woman faces changes in the hormonal background in the body. Age hormonal changes in most cases occur in women in the adolescent and at the age of about 50 years.
Hormonal changes in adolescents
During puberty girls (prepubertal period), the ovaries constantly produce a certain amount of estrogen (the so-called female sex hormone). Its development is regulated by a part of the brain - the hypothalamus, according to the principle of "feedback", thus maintaining the concentration of the hormone at a relatively stable level.
The beginning of puberty occurs in every girl at an individual time. It depends on various factors, in many respects on the genetic factor, that is, on the time when this period began for the parents.
At the time of the onset of puberty, the amount of estrogen produced is significantly increased. The hypothalamus, as it were, changes its "settings" and "allows" a higher concentration of estrogen in the blood. This process is often associated with an increase in body weight.
Due to the high level of estrogen and progesterone (which is synthesized by the ovaries after ovulation) in the blood, various physiological changes occur in the body.
The synthesis of hormones is closely related to the amount of body fat. Therefore, often in girls, the fat content in the body in which the low, it is possible to delay the appearance of the period of puberty.
Girls also produce hormones such as testosterone and androgens, but their concentration is low. They affect the physiological changes in the body, for example, by stimulating the growth of the body's hair.
Because of the high level of hormones in the body during puberty, girls can experience emotional instability, frequent sharp mood changes, feelings of anxiety.
Hormonal changes in women
As mentioned above, the second period of hormonal changes begins about 50 years, significantly affecting the sphere of feelings, which can not but affect family relations. Usually during this period of time the relationship is tested for strength.
A few years before the onset of menopause, you can see a decrease in the level of hormones produced by the ovaries. There are fewer and fewer follicles that contain the egg, and with the advent of menopause they disappear altogether. This leads to the fact that progesterone and estrogen cease to be produced, there is no yellow body and menstruation disappears. As a rule, this process takes place in women in the interval from 48 to 52 years.
The most noticeable signs of changes in the hormonal balance during this period are:
- Impossibility of pregnancy, as, as noted above, the follicles containing the egg disappear.
- Reducing sexual desire. As a rule, this is due to the fact that hormonal imbalance leads to dryness in the vagina and discomfort during sexual intercourse. Also, the attraction may decrease because of self-doubt, because the companion of hormonal changes is often emotional instability, which leads to a deterioration in the relationship with the partner. Dryness can be caused by a decrease in the amount of estrogen produced, which also makes the vaginal walls less elastic. Large labia formations change shape, becoming thin. All this also contributes to a decrease in sexual activity
- In connection with the decrease in the level of hormones, the level of sexual desire decreases, although testosterone, which is the main component of sexual desire, continues to be produced in the ovaries. However, despite this, recent studies have shown that women with a permanent partner can maintain the same sex drive and activity as before. Moreover, about forty percent of the women surveyed note that with appropriate prevention and treatment, their sexual function during this period is significantly improved and allows you to get even more pleasure from sexual activity.
