- butter - 2 items. spoons
- apples, peeled and chopped into 4 parts - 1.5 Kilogram
- apple cider - 3 cups
- lemon, juice - 1/2 Pieces
- lemon peel - 1 teaspoon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
In a saucepan over medium-high heat, melt the butter and add the apples. Cook apples for about 5 minutes. Add cider, bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for about 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 120 degrees. Press to make a mashed potatoes from cooked apples. Add the lemon juice, lemon zest and cinnamon. Blend puree in a blender until smooth. Pour the mixture into a baking dish. Bake in the oven, stirring occasionally until the mixture thickens, about 3 to 3 1/2 hours. Allow to cool before serving. Apple jam can be stored in a refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
