In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water. Leave to stand for about 10 minutes. In a large bowl, combine the yeast, flour, eggs, butter, sugar and salt, mix well. Put the dough on a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth, about 8 minutes. Lightly sprinkle the bowl with oil, put the dough there and crank it to completely cover with oil. Cover with a damp cloth and let rise in a warm place, until it doubles, about 1 hour. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees C). Combine the ham, cheese, pepper and olive oil in a medium bowl; to put aside. Put the dough on a lightly floured surface. Roll the dough into a rectangle 10x14 inches. Make parallel sections. Evenly fill the mixture with the center of the rectangle. Starting at one end, alternately stretch the strips on both sides through the filling, so as to overlap the stripes diagonally. Transfer the loaf to a lightly oiled baking sheet, cover with a damp cloth, and let it stand for about 40 minutes.
