Cupcake with orange syrup The history of this confectionery is very ancient. The very first cake can be considered one that was cooked in ancient Rome, mixing barley puree with nuts, raisins and pomegranate seeds. Then came the baked cupcakes, but they were very different from the ones we eat today. After all, sugar appeared only in the sixteenth century, so the cupcakes were more like honey sweetened with nuts and dried fruits. The first precursors of the present cupcakes were baked in the middle of the seventeenth century in Europe, when more advanced plates appeared, and most importantly - sugar, which was first delivered from the American colonies. They quickly became popular in different countries, and each of them had its own cooking features, ingredients. Cupcakes began to make different sizes and shapes. For example, in Germany, muffins are made rectangular and sprinkled with powdered sugar. In Switzerland, the essential ingredients for the cake are nuts and candied fruits. In America, however, cupcakes are impregnated with alcoholic beverages and put in them a lot of fruits and nuts. We offer you a similar recipe, but the impregnation of this cake will not contain alcohol, so you can enjoy it with the whole family, including children.
