Fear of doctors in children

Of course, there is no greater stress for the mother and baby, when the doctor's conclusion reads: "It is necessary to go to the hospital." How to behave in this case? Fear for the health of the crumbs and the unknown shock and paralyze the thoughts of my mother. Hence the panic, which, of course, is passed on to the child. Unfortunately, despite all our efforts, curing a baby at home is not always possible. When deciding whether to go to the hospital or not, keep self-control and sober thinking, because without your consent, doctors do not have the right to hospitalize the child, even if he is in a very serious condition. Remember that it is from your choice can depend on the life of the baby. Take a deep breath, morally assemble! And in order not to be so anxious, let's open the door of the children's hospital and look in there with one eye. All is not so scary as it would seem, fear of doctors in children.

In the reception room

First you will go to the hospital reception room. The doctor on duty will conduct a primary examination of the baby, as well as ask about the transferred diseases, operations and allergic reactions. In the case history, the home address, work and home telephones and the parents' work place will be recorded.

In Pediatrics

Let it not surprise you that the child is hospitalized "only" with a viral infection or bronchitis. In young children very strong intoxication develops very rapidly, which worsens the health condition. Your doctor probably noticed signs of anxiety! In the conditions of the department of pediatrics, the child can be examined daily, the doctor, if necessary, even at night will come to the rescue. In addition, procedures such as injections (injections) and droppers should preferably be carried out in a hospital. The mode of somatic departments, as a rule, is loyal: you will be able to visit relatives and bring transfers. Check out the schedule of the day in the office, which indicates the hours of visit and the time of a quiet hour. Even at the reception in the clinic, please specify whether you are hospitalized with the baby. As a rule, to ensure proper care, the joint stay of the mother and the baby is welcomed by the hospital administration. However, it is possible that you will not be provided with a separate bed. There's nothing to be done, I'll have to settle on one.

In surgery

Certain diseases require surgical care. Unfortunately, children are no exception. In most cases, such hospitalization occurs according to urgent indications. In the morning the kid frolicked, and in the evening the ambulance rushes him, with pains in the abdomen, into the surgical department. Take with you things of basic necessity: dishes for baby, one change of clothes, diapers, documents and money. The rest will be later brought by the pope or close relatives. The patient will be examined by a surgeon. If the decision on the operation is accepted, then the anesthetist will get acquainted with the baby. You will be asked a lot of questions: how was the pregnancy going, what was the baby sick before, whether there was an allergy to any medications and so on. Do not be surprised! The doctor sees the baby for the first time and should in a short time assess the state of his health in order to choose the correct tactics for the introduction of anesthesia and the operation. Any manipulation, much less an operation and anesthesia, is carried out only with your written consent! You have the right to refuse. Only the suspension is all "for" and "against" before doing it!

In reanimation

To provide immediate medical care, resuscitation and intensive care units have been established, where serious diseases are treated, which often requires constant monitoring. In these departments there is a special tracking equipment that measures pressure, respiration rate and temperature, and also shows how the baby's heart works. Nurses and doctors work 24 hours a day in intensive care. They constantly monitor the state of the child and are ready to help at any time. Due to a special regime in the intensive care unit, children are without parents. But here there are also visits. In intensive care, the regime of the day is much stricter. Visits to babies are allowed only to close relatives. To enter the department, you must wear a medical gown, a cap, a mask and shoe covers.

Mom-soothing, krohe-tale!

Although excessively painful or psychotraumatic manipulations are performed under anesthesia, staying in a hospital for a baby is a stressful situation. No matter how hard it is for you, keep your emotions "in the fist"! The child should not see on your face of doubt and tears. Do not discuss with the doctor the nuances of treatment in case of crumbs: let the father or nurse of the department stay with him for a minute or two. If you need to take a difficult decision and leave the baby alone, either in the operating room or in the intensive care unit, tell him a story or a small tale. Be sure to let me know that you will be looking forward to the return of your treasure and you will come to it! Calm suggestions of my mother are doing real miracles: even the smallest carapace, hearing a confident native voice, behaves much calmer.
