How to carry a baby in your arms and not harm your health

As the child grows, its weight increases, it becomes more difficult for you to lift the baby in your arms, carry and perform some exercises with him. Moreover, there is a risk of injury when lifting the heaviness (especially in such cases, the muscles of the hands and lower back).

Raising the child from the sitting position

This way of raising the baby's hands will provide maximum security and help you to rationally expend your energy. It is based on unloading the lumbar muscles at the time of lifting weights. First, do all the movements without the baby, since this method requires the training of your hands and feet (all the load is transferred to the limbs).

Before beginning squats, stretch the spine, lifting your arms straight above your head and slowly bending your knees. Keep your back straight. Then lower your arms and straighten your slightly spread legs, lean forward. Now bend your knees, take the baby by the armpits and with a rapid movement lift it up (your back remains straight). The hands do the same movement as in the beginning of the exercise (with the spine stretching). The only difference is that the load on the hands is added - the weight of the baby's body when it rises upward. Then you get up with the extension of the knees, but (!) Do not lean forward.

The downward slope of the body is accompanied by a slow and full exhalation; a deep breath begins when the child is lifted up.

Raising the child from the "leaning forward" position

If it is difficult for you to climb with a child in your arms, unbending your knees, then a tilt forward is inevitable. Try to lift the baby off the floor in such a way as to avoid overstraining your back.

Take a wide step along the child lying on the floor. Slightly bend that leg, which is left behind, moving the center of gravity onto it. Do in this position several slopes of the body towards the child, in order to feel the movement that you are about to perform. Such training without a baby will help you to develop stability when tilting back and forth and gain confidence.

During the next tilt forward with both hands, take the child by the armpits, unbending the leg from behind and bending the leg in front while lifting the baby in his arms.

After exhaling, start lifting, moving the body back. Having risen with the child on hands and having straightened, deeply inhale.

Joint lift from the floor

This method is recommended when the child is heavy enough to serve as a counterweight. Daily execution of this movement will help increase your agility and flexibility, strengthen the press.

Kneel next to the child. Then put one foot on the floor and straighten the body. Take the baby by the armpits, face to yourself, sit on your knee and move the center of gravity, bending forward with the body. Keep the child at some distance from yourself, rise with him.

When leaning forward - inhale, when lifting with a child in his arms - exhale.

Wearing a baby in relaxation mode

The relaxed state during the transfer of the child not only protects your back, but also contributes to a sense of confidence and comfort for you and the baby. Improve the way you carry the baby as your weight increases, checking the position of the baby and adjusting accordingly the devices that you use to carry it.

Wearing on the thigh

In order for one of your hand to remain with the child's carrying free, try to put the baby on your thigh, back to yourself. This is better than the common variant, which involves putting the child "riding" on the hip, that is, facing you. This way of wearing can cause a baby's pelvic asymmetry, a violation of posture, problems with walking.

Hold the child sitting on your hip with one hand in the chest area. For a more secure fixation of the baby, just pull the hip on which it sits. So you can easily move around and take items with your free hand, and the child will not be obstructed by the view. As much as possible, relax the shoulder of the arm holding the "railing". The weight of the baby should fall mainly on the extended hip "seat".

If you feel that there is uncontrolled stress with this support method, it is a signal that you made a mistake when you performed it. The correct carrying of the baby by way of facilitated support is physiological enough and does not imply a feeling of discomfort.

Wearing with the support of the hand

Lightweight carrying of the child in this way is a continuation of the previously described method of moving newborns on the shoulder. It may take some time before the child learns to relax in this position if you have not been practicing with the baby before.

Put the baby on her breast so that his arms hang over your back. Hand, with the same name on the shoulder, support the baby. The task of the baby is to learn to relax in this position and at the same time keep the balance on your own. To achieve a complete relaxation by the child, lower the baby's head on your shoulder, stroke his back and try to remove the supporting arm. In the future, the baby will be able to do without the insurance of your hand.

This method of carrying children is convenient and physiological for an adult. It can be practiced for quite some time - up to 6 years.

Wearing in a position under the armpit

From reliable support, for example "sitting on the hip", go to another option: attach the child in a horizontal position to his waist so that he lies face down, and you would wrap your hand around his back and chest.

Try jumping and jogging along with the child under your arm, and watch his reaction.

If the baby's neck is not yet fully strengthened, use this position only for a joint slow, relaxed walk.

Grow healthy!
