What it takes to sew a fashionable clutch bag from scratch?
The sewing machine, we think, you have. If not, it does not matter, because it can be with your friends or relatives.
Determine first with the shape, shape and dimensions of the clutch. For example, for a bag of 15 to 20 cm, you need to purchase material, about half a meter. The same amount of backing material you need, do not forget about the fastener: it can be a button, a Velcro or a button. To make a clutch bag, you will need cardboard (for patterning) and a piece of dry soap (you can chalk).
How to sew a bag: pattern, technique
Now, when everything is ready and at your fingertips, you can proceed to the very process of manufacturing.
First of all, you need to cut out a rectangle from the cardboard, the dimensions of which should be within 17 by 22 cm (these dimensions include the allowances for the seams). For the cut, you need to lay the fabric with the wrong side up, put a cardboard pattern on it and wrap it with soap. Next, you need to shift the pattern down to the outlined line and again circled with soap, and again the same way. As a result, you will get a 22 by 51 cm rectangle drawn on a fabric, consisting of three, 17 by 22 cm rectangles corresponding to a pattern of cardboard, each of which will correspond to the front, back and flap of the fastener. The upper rectangle should be given the desired shape (what you want to see the pocket valve). From the lining fabric you need to make exactly the same pattern for the future product. In the end, we got two patterns, in appearance resembling an envelope in its unfolded form.
Now fold the pattern of the main fabric face-to-face (along the line of the first line of the two rectangles), while the future pocket valve will remain outside, and sew the two side seams, stepping back one centimeter from the edge. Do the same with a pattern of lining fabric. After processing the side seams and turn out the resulting pockets.
Next, you have to fold the facial tissue with the wrong sides face to face and connect them with a stitch on the machine along the contour of the valve. After stitching along the line the holes of the future product. Now fold the connected parts like this: lining in half inside the face, with the main fabric do the same. Align the seams that connect the lining with the bag. Sew along both sides of the cutout (the hole for eversion should remain). Having turned out a clutch, sew an aperture.
Now proceed to the fastener. Sew a button (or button, velcro) to the clutch and make a loop on the valve corresponding to the button. The clutch is ready.
Decoration
