Inflammation of the lungs (pneumonia)

Lung inflammation is an infectious lung disease that occurs as an independent disease or as a complication of other diseases. There are two main types of pneumonia: croup and focal (bronchopneumonia).

Symptoms

With croupous pneumonia, a significant part of the lung is affected. It begins, as a rule, with a sharp rise in temperature to 40 ° and chills. There is a frequent dry cough and pain in the side, worse with inspiration, with coughing and sneezing. Breathing becomes rapid (dyspnea). On the 2-3rd day of the illness, coughing begins to produce sputum characteristic brown, very viscous. Urine is small, it is saturated dark, often contains protein. In severe cases, the lungs can come stagnant blood, which leads to their edema. Appetite disappears. With a favorable outcome on the 7-9th day of illness, a sudden improvement in the patient's condition occurs (the so-called crisis).

Focal inflammation of the lungs most often occurs as a complication after other diseases, mainly infectious, and is closely related to the weakening of the organism by a previous disease or unfavorable living conditions. Unlike croupous, focal inflammation begins gradually and all manifestations of the disease are not so pronounced. Cough persistent or seizures, with discharge of mucous expectoration usually green. The temperature can be low.
Treatment of all types of inflammation should always be done according to the purpose and under the supervision of a doctor.

First aid for a patient in the absence of a doctor

1. Clear the stomach with any laxative.
2. If possible place it in a warm, but not a hot room.
3. In the patient's food, give broth, milk, but do not persuade him to eat more, as eating over desire is very harmful.
4. To lower the temperature, give water with lemon or cranberry juice. Very weak and old in age patients can give a little wine to raise their strength.
5. Chest, sides and back wrap with a warming wet compress, changing the compress twice a day.
6. Before a crisis it is good to give a patient something diaphoretic - an infusion of lime-colored, mint or sage.
7. At the very beginning of focal inflammation it is useful to give hot or warm milk, adding a drop of purified turpentine to the glass of milk.

Traditional medicine has a large set of tools that can be used on the recommendation of a doctor to treat a patient with pneumonia in the home, along with prescribed medicines.
External procedures that facilitate the patient's condition and delay the development of the disease

1. Put medical jars on the chest and back for 10-15 minutes.
2. Warming compress on the chest, you can do not from the water, and spread on the canvas soft curd (with a small amount of whey) in the finger thickness.
3. To divert the heat from the chest, wrap the feet to the ankles with pieces of cloth (well wrung out), soaked in vinegar, wrapping your legs on top of something warm. When the canvas dries, it must be moistened again. You can simply put on soaked socks with such water, put dry socks on top and wrap your feet in warm clothes.
