Lazy cabbage rolls or Bigos Lazy cabbage rolls are a national dish of Polish cuisine. In Polish this dish is called bigos and is a chopped meat with stewed cabbage and a side dish of buckwheat porridge, as well the dish is generously seasoned with horseradish and mustard! Like many popular dishes of other cuisines, lazy cabbage rolls are firmly established in our menu. Of course, the recipe in the course of history and habits may have changed, but this did not diminish the excellent taste of this dish. Recipes of cabbage rolls and lazy cabbage rolls are very similar, but in the second case, the hassle is slightly less and the taste of the dish turns out to be more gentle. In general, the cooking process does not have a strict formula - the main thing is to take fresh products and combine them in the right proportion for you (someone to love more cabbage, well, someone adds it just a little bit for the smell and juiciness). It is also important to make a delicious sauce-pour for putting out lazy cabbage rolls. It is better to use tomato juice and sour cream with your favorite spices. Let's prepare this wonderful dish of Bigos!
Ingredients:- Pork forcemeat 600 g
- Carrot 1 pc.
- Onion 2 pcs.
- White cabbage 0.5 pcs.
- Round-grain rice 60 g
- Eggs chicken 2 pcs.
- Pepper black ground 2 pinch
- Salt 2 pinch
- Sunflower refined sunflower oil 6 tbsp. l.
- Tomato juice 400 ml
- Sour cream 4 tbsp. l.
- Pepper black ground 2 pinch
- Salt 2 pinch
- Step 1 To prepare lazy cabbage rolls, let's take pork forcemeat, onions, carrots, cabbage, eggs, rice, tomato juice, sour cream and spices.
- Step 2 Onions and carrots peeled, grate the carrots on a large grater, cut the onions into small cubes.
- Step 3 Preheat 2-3 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a frying pan and fry onion with carrots until golden-rosy.
- Step 4 3-4 tablespoons of rice thoroughly rinse, pour water and boil until cooked. Then drain the water and rinse again under cold water to stop the digestion process.
- Step 5 Cut the cabbage into strips and then into small squares (3-4 average cabbage presses should be produced).
- Step 6 Add to the stuffing, roast, boiled rice, cabbage, 2 eggs, black pepper and salt.
- Step 7 Mix everything into a homogeneous mass.
- Step 8 In a frying pan, warm 3-4 tablespoons of vegetable oil, form a cutlet of minced meat and fry it from two sides to a ruddy color (do not fry until ready).
- Step 9 Lay the fried lazy cabbage rolls in a deep form, you can in 2 layers.
- Step 10 Prepare the sauce: combine 2 cups of tomato juice and 4-5 tablespoons of sour cream, add salt and black pepper to taste.
- Step 11 Add sauce to lazy cabbage rolls.
- Step 12 Bake in a preheated to 180 ° C oven for 45-55 minutes. Serve lazy cabbage rolls with hot.
