Master class of a simple New Year mask
Let's start with the simplest version of a flat mask. Doing it will not be difficult, the total production time is no more than half an hour. From the materials you will need:
- Sheet of cardboard for children's creativity
- Underwear elastic - 20 cm
- Glue
- Scissors
- Stapler
- Lace, stones, sequins and other - for decoration
So, first of all, you need to measure the distance between the upper temporal bones. The same distance is drawn with a straight line in the middle of the cardboard sheet. In the center we put a point. From this mark, we retreat 1.5 cm to the right and to the left. At the point of indentation we put the dots - these are the inner corners of the eyes. Now we measure from these marks on 2.5-3 cm, diverting the line by a centimeter upwards. The position of the eyes is drawn. We connect the points by smooth curved lines, so that the image of the eyes is obtained. Cut out of a clerical knife.
When, the eyes of the future mask are carved, we proceed to create its form. You can use the proposed sketches, or you can create based on your ideas.
Now the task is to firmly attach the rubber band. For this, we retreat 1 cm along the edges and fasten the elastic band with cardboard with a stapler.
The most long-awaited thing left is the decoration of the mask. If your outfit has black or red shades, it will perfectly match the mask, pasted with black lace. If you have prepared a dress or a suit of another color, then we advise you to do the mask in the same shade.
The mask can be embroidered with stones, feathers, paste pastes. As an option, you can draw a smooth pattern with thick glue, and after tear on them small glitter.
How to make a volumetric layout of the New Year's mask
If you want the mask to be made just for the shape of your face, then you have to work a little, since the principle of papier mache is based on the manufacture of such products. To do this, it is necessary to chop several pages of a newspaper or thin paper.
Now we put on the face a fat cream and begin to glue the area of the nose and around the eyes so that there are no voids left. After the first layer is laid out, take the glue and lubricate it with the entire area lined with paper, then again pasting paper. It remains to wait until the billet dries. To speed up the drying process, you can use a hairdryer.
Remove the dried mask and cut the uneven edges. Now it's time to paint. To do this, use acrylic or gouache paints. Fastening of elastic bands and decoration can look a little higher in the version with a flat mask.
