Non-verbal communication, signs of hidden lies

At work, in the store, in ordinary everyday life, we often face deception. How to understand that a person is telling a lie? How to "bring out a liar"? I offer you some tips how to recognize where the fraud, and where the truth.

First of all, pay attention to the external signs of human behavior.

If your interlocutor nervously coughs, breathes heavily, stutters, often blinks, his forehead becomes covered with droplets of sweat, his face turns red or pales, often licks his lips, all this is a sign that he is telling lies.

In order to understand whether a person deceives you or not, you need to know the very basics of non-verbal communication. Pay attention to his gesticulations and the signals that his body gives.

A person who speaks untruth, hides his eyes, avoids eye contact with the interlocutor. Often touches his face, involuntarily covers his mouth, touches his chest in the heart. Gestures of the interlocutor are limited and insecure. Sometimes, on the contrary, a liar can give out too active gesticulation. For example, he constantly corrects clothes, hair, removes from itself mote, fingering gloves, fingering fingers, rubbing his hands. During the time when a person says untruth, he can knock his foot on the floor, rearrange the items on the table. In a word, to behave restlessly.

The first reaction is the most truthful. If, after your question, the interlocutor's eyes express doubt, confusion, uncertainty, and he says at this moment as if he is confident, it is worth drawing conclusions.

A person can think for a moment to come up with an answer that you like or will arrange, it is worthwhile to be on the alert. Agree that when a person speaks the truth, he will not think. Also pay attention to the correspondence of gestures and words. If, with a positive response, the interlocutor shakes his head negatively, or, on the contrary, nods his head affirmatively, pronouncing negative words, most likely, it means that you are told what you want to hear, not the truth.

As a rule, people who lie, take a defensive position, try to justify themselves. Those who speak the truth go on the offensive. However, do not forget about the well-known saying "best defense - attack".

Lying is unpleasant, so your interlocutor can try to leave your field of vision, for example, leaning against the door, almost hiding behind it, falling apart in an armchair, etc. Unconsciously, a liar can erect a barrier between you in the form of a cup, a book, a stand, a vase, or any other object within reach.

When answering your questions, a person uses your own words, responding in abbreviated form. He tries to speak in hints, instead of saying it directly. The deceiver will say a lot of words, detailing all the small details, trying not to let you insert a word. Pay attention to the tone of the interlocutor. A high timbre of voice will tell you that a person experiences tension and a feeling of discomfort. The monotonous speech of a liar is designed to lull your vigilance.

If you suspect that a person is deceiving you, try to translate communication into another topic. A liar with great joy will support this idea, because he really wants to end an unpleasant conversation as soon as possible. The innocent will insist on continuing to clarify the relationship until justice triumphs, and all accusations will not be lifted from him. The abundance of sarcasm and humor in the speech of the interlocutor is a sign of lies. If, of course, in ordinary life this is not the norm of communication of a particular person.

If you find all these signs in a conversation with your family or friends, do not make hasty conclusions. Maybe this is their normal manner of communication?
