Sociological research - abortions in Russia

"Sociological research: abortion in Russia" is a topic of our today's article, where we will try to analyze public opinion on the problem of abortion in our country.

Termination of pregnancy at all times was considered ungrateful, and even sinful. In the Middle Ages, an intentional miscarriage in a pregnant woman was equated with killing an infant, and therefore killing an already living person. Often, in the modern world, many religious leaders appeal to these same arguments, and other representatives of the spiritualized public.

To date, legislative approval or the prohibition of abortion is a good tool for governments of many countries to regulate the birth rate and correct the demographic situation. It's no secret that many prosperous countries in Europe are rapidly aging, that is, there are significantly more people in retirement age than economically active young people and middle-aged people. Therefore, many European countries envisage programs for the resettlement of their compatriots from other regions of the world, state programs to attract foreign specialists to their enterprises. And also, a separate article, is the legislative prohibition of abortion. Provision is made for both the doctor and the woman who decided to take this step. The ruling elite of the state, which mainly consists of men, justifies its prohibitions by taking care of the health of women and improving the demographic situation in the country.

Similar trends can be traced in modern Russian society. For many years now, the mass media have been talking about the insufficient fertility and degeneration of the Russian nation. There are various kinds of agitation campaigns to attract young people to the sport and for a healthy lifestyle. In the framework of the same project for the rehabilitation of the nation, the law on the total prohibition of abortion in the territory of the Russian Federation is adopted. Throughout the world and Russian history, several times such projects have been adopted and rejected. Therefore, it is possible to assume in advance all possible pluses and minuses.

Undoubtedly, the ban on the interruption of pregnancy will lead to an increase in the number of babies born. If we look at the statistics, it will immediately show how the fertility rates plummeted. However, statistics, as you know, gives only "cold" figures. What is behind every single digit? How many of these newborns will actually be desired after the abortion ban? After all, it is worth taking into account the social origin of these babies. In general, representatives of the weaker sex resort to abortion for several, but fairly objective reasons.

First, when pregnancy occurred earlier than adulthood. Then the abortion of the girl is prompted not only by life circumstances, but also by immediate relatives. In general, despite the external cynicism and callousness of future grandparents who insist on abortion, their arguments contain a rational grain. Such a young mother is unlikely to be fully educated, as the child requires constant care and attention. Not to mention the fact that the reputation of both girls and families will be completely tarnished by such an early child. Because it is rare to catch and take to the registrar of a young father. Although, this is unlikely to help seriously. Since the father of a child can not bring enough money to the house, let alone a young mother.

Secondly, if the social status of a woman for a long time remains fragile, the child is unlikely to bring joy. In other words, women often resort to abortions, who are dragging their mournful existence while at the lowest social level. The ban on abortion can lead to an increase in the birth rate among socially disadvantaged populations. Does the country need children who will grow up in disgusting conditions, for which daily violence will be the norm of life, and bad habits will enter the realm of their vital interests, as soon as they learn to speak. In Russia, among such a population, the birth rate has always been at a fairly high level, with the introduction of a ban on abortion, it will increase again. Do we need a surge of just such birth rate? Difficult question. Because, in ten or fifteen years, socially unprotected lower classes, which after the ban will become even more, can seriously weaken the socially stable Russian society. But this is already a matter for a separate discussion.
