For example, lead the organization of the performance of your unit at a corporate party.

It is necessary to indicate what this will give: a place for the sake of a place you will not be offered. Think about what result you can bring from the point of view of financial gain, leading the department, optimize any unit or solve the problem. The financial result is of two kinds: economy or profit.


And what if they refuse me? Even so, nothing terrible has happened. If you did not react in the desired way, try again: show yourself, show your professionalism. Do not take rejection to heart, ask what was its cause. Do not despair: on the contrary, you have time for self-improvement, and the leader has already made it clear that you want to grow. Even if you were refused, perhaps there are many objective reasons for this. And what you offer shows your vision, but not the situation on the market and inside the company. You always have a chance to try again - in this company or another.
