Visit to the doctor during pregnancy

From the first weeks of pregnancy, start talking with your doctor. This is a guarantee that you and the baby will be under reliable protection. Did you find out that you will soon be a mom? Do not delay the visit to the doctor. To be registered in a female consultation, doctors advise until the sixth week of pregnancy. This will help to prevent the slightest complications in time. You will need to go to the doctor as follows: at least once a month - until the 28th week, twice a month - until the 36th week and every 7 days - until the birth.

Do not despise inspections! Regularly attend a woman's consultation is not for treatment (pregnancy is not a disease!), But for the prevention of unforeseen difficulties. Perhaps the prospect of spending hours in the clinic does not seem attractive to you. But do not succumb to negative emotions. Take from the house an unread magazine, a player with your favorite disc. You can just mentally communicate with your baby: this is a wonderful way to cheer up. Make meetings with the doctor as efficient as possible in simple rules. Listen attentively to the recommendations and do not hesitate to ask about everything that interests you. Before you go to the reception, consider your questions. Do not rely on memory: at the right time, it can fail. It is better to write everything in advance. If you are worried about something (insomnia, general malaise, emerging discharge), do not think it's a trifle, but immediately tell the doctor.

In the zone of special attention
The doctor will give you a lot of different tests. Do not be scared, it should be so. Each of them is very important, so give them diligently, do not skip and do not postpone anything for later. Such simple, at first glance, examination, as a general blood test, determining the sugar level in it, and urine analysis help prevent serious complications that sometimes occur during pregnancy.
Using a common blood test, the level of hemoglobin is determined. This examination allows the doctor to notice the manifestations of iron deficiency anemia in time. This complication makes it difficult for oxygen and nutrients to flow from the mother to the baby and is often the cause of reduced weight and hypoxia in the baby. To prevent such consequences, the doctor can advise you to take iron preparations.
Increased blood sugar - a sign of the development of diabetes in pregnant women. This disease causes hormones that are activated during pregnancy and block the production of insulin in the body.

It is especially important to monitor the level of sugar if you are at risk: one of the relatives has diabetes, you have high blood pressure, you slowly gain weight or a very large fruit. The disease passes after childbirth, however, until the appearance of the baby the future mother needs constant medical supervision. Diabetes contributes to the disruption of metabolic processes and seriously complicates the course of pregnancy. Regular examination of urine allows you to determine the presence of protein in it. Despite the fact that a woman during this period can feel perfectly healthy, the presence of protein is a very disturbing sign of impaired renal function. The future mother will need careful medical supervision and, apparently, treatment in the hospital.

Dangerous infections
Previously, a test for TORCH infection (toxoplasmosis, rubella, cytomegalovirus and herpes) was mandatory for all pregnant women. Now the analysis is not included in the plan of examinations of each mummy. Such infections are dangerous for the fetus if the infection occurred during pregnancy for the first time. However, statistically, the probability of this is very small: most women at the time of conception already have immunity to these dangerous infections. The doctor something has suspected, has appointed or nominated the test which has shown not so attractive result? Do not be upset, but get well. Modern drugs minimize the risk of unpleasant consequences. Trust your doctor! And all your worries will dissipate like smoke.
