Lyudmila was preparing for her husband's birthday. Since yesterday evening cleaning was in the house, products were bought. For today there were cooking and buying the main decoration of the table - a festive cake, because she wanted to buy fresh.


Spoiled holiday

Getting up early, Luda went to the nearest supermarket. The choice was great: here and the meds, and biscuits, and wafer, and chocolate, but she liked a big cake in a beautiful package, decorated with cream flowers. Interested in the manufacturer, she learned that the cake was made here in the supermarket, the shop's confectioners. "So, fresh," Lyudmila decided for some reason and, finding confirmation - the date on the price tag - hurried to pay.

Arriving home, the woman, without opening, put the cake in the fridge and forgot about it until the evening.


When the culmination of the holiday came, the cake was solemnly removed from the box and decorated with figured candles in the form of two figures. Andrei's husband cheerfully blew out them, remembering, apparently, his childhood, and cut the cake into twelve equal parts. Her husband's friends, already quite well fed, but still eagerly waiting for the sweet, began to disassemble the pieces from the dish.

When the first reaction of the guests was heard: "Oh, what is this?" and "What does it smell?" - Lyudmila's heart contracted. Only now she sniffed the cake, then licked the cream - and the disgusting smell of rancid butter and an incomprehensible plastic taste unpleasantly struck her. It was terrible. Friends, of course, began to joke about this and in every way to comfort her, and her husband even ran to the store for another cake, but for Lyudmila the evening was hopelessly spoiled, and she had already foreseen where to go about expired products.

And the next day the woman decided to go to the supermarket to "sort it out." And I took the rest of the cake with me - so, just in case - suddenly they will not believe in the store and will also want to try.


I must say, the supermarket administrator was not too happy about her visit. "Present a check, please," she commanded. "I did not keep the check, unfortunately," answered Lyudmila, "but I still have a box with a price tag-the date is there." The administrator grunted discontentedly - there was nothing to cover. Lyudmila suggested that she try a piece of cake, but she only sniffed it, refused to tastelessly. True, she immediately agreed that it smelled strange, and considered it necessary to return the grief-customer the full amount in full.


But, having received back her money, Lyudmila did not feel a sense of relief. The triumph of the winner was marred by a spoiled triumph and an unpleasant feeling of sediment on his soul. "No, that's not enough, I want moral compensation," she decided suddenly, even for herself. And I asked myself: "How can I do this?"

First of all, you should write a complaint to the name of the supermarket's management, where to describe all that happened. Be sure to note that you send a copy of the complaint to the consumer protection society. The management usually starts asking from the producers (in this case it's internal proceedings). Often there is a feeble attempt to put responsibility on you. For example, you may be accused of improper storage of the product. Or they can say that a cake is a fake. But in most cases, one complaint is enough to compensate you for a certain amount and for moral damage.


And if not, then here is the advice: find a corner of the buyer in the store, where the phone numbers of the district sanitary station and the society for the protection of consumers' rights should be indicated. Then you can call directly from the supermarket and invite the Sanctuary to make an official excavation with subsequent examination and verification of all certificates of quality and conformity. You'll see - the supermarket's management will immediately become more accommodating.


However, if the use of the product had more serious consequences (for example, one of the guests was hospitalized with poisoning), that is, another way - the court. Then, in parallel with the complaint, you should quickly take samples of a poor-quality product to the Sanitary Station and order an examination. True, for their own money, but if the court confirms the fault of the manufacturer, the court will oblige you to return your costs for examination. And if you have to seek medical help, a certificate from a doctor with the diagnosis, date, time and stamp of the hospital is very useful. Witnesses, guests, for example, will not be superfluous either.

The main infringement in supermarkets is overdue products that are not cleaned on time, repackage and paste price tags with a more recent date or give them to the culinary department for processing.

Determine the freshness of the product only in appearance is difficult, so ask for a sample slice or at least smell.

Always pay attention to the storage conditions of products in the store. Should be alerted: a sharp smell of garlic or spices, which interrupt the stale smell of meat.

Low-quality or defective food products are subject to exchange.

Always keep checks from purchases (or a supermarket price tag) until you use these products.


If you decide to return a substandard product to the store, it is better to show the packaging from it. But even if there is no check and packing, you can prove your purchase by asking the administrator to pick up the cash register, which should be kept for 1 month (remember the time of purchase and other products you bought).

You can demand a commensurate reduction in the purchase price or a replacement for a similar product, as well as refuse the goods and return the money.
