Allergic dermatitis on the face

Dermatitis is now, perhaps, the most common skin disease. Various forms of this disease have been documented, among which allergic dermatitis on the face can be distinguished. This form of the disease is the skin's response to a certain irritant-allergen.

Causes of the disease

In many cases, the cause of this disease is direct skin contact with an aggressive chemical substance. Interestingly, allergic dermatitis is mostly diagnosed among women. And the main reason is poor-quality cosmetics. To begin with, you should consider a list of substances that, in principle, can cause such an allergic reaction.

Rubber. However strange it may be, this substance is part of the sponge for applying cosmetics and can cause dermatitis;

Metals. The most common allergen among metals is nickel, from which make jewelry;

Acrylates. These substances are part of the frames of glasses, and also artificial nails are made of them;

Pine resin. The resin can be contained in various cosmetics. Therefore, before buying, you should carefully study the makeup of the cosmetic.

Plants. Very often on the face, dermatitis can arise from exposure to the skin of a substance that is contained in plants and the combined effect of physical factors, for example, wind, sun. Plant chemicals, for example, caustic buttercup or nettle have the ability to cause skin irritation in absolutely all people, causing so-called simple dermatitis. There are also plants that cause allergic reactions. To such plants include some houseplants, for example, geranium, primrose. Some chemicals contained in plants (in yarrow, sedge, wild mountain ash, parsnip) are photosensitizers and cause photophytodermatitis, i.e. allergic reactions when exposed to sunlight.

As a rule, dermatitis on the face occurs after contact with the primula. Skin manifestations usually occur after a while after contact and can be expressed as redness, itching and burning. If the skin is combed, then in these damaged places the bacterial infection can get into the body and develop a suppuration.

In addition to cosmetics, medicines, heavy metals, toxins and other dangerous substances can be an allergen.

Symptoms

At the area of the body on which contact with the allergen has occurred, first there is a strong reddening, which subsequently swells. Over time, the face begins to form papules and vesicles. Subsequently, they are opened and form permanently wet areas, on which inflammation develops. If allergic dermatitis is not treated, then it can go to chronic eczema.

Treatment of dermatitis on the face

Dermatitis therapy depends on the reason for which it was formed. Simple dermatitis is treated by the usual cessation of contact with the allergen and the use of anti-inflammatory drugs of local use. If there is severe itching, then use corticosteroid ointments, with dandruff dermatitis - wet-drying bandages and chatterboxes. If large bubbles form on the skin, they must be opened and the place of formation should be greased with a green.

If dermatitis is allergic, then after establishing the cause, medicines are prescribed that suppress allergy manifestations. It should be noted that contact with the irritant in the future should be completely ruled out. Local treatment is similar to the treatment of simple dermatitis.

If the facial skin is prone to rashes, then recommend to use only low-fat means that do not clog the skin (sprays, creams). In addition, the face must be cleaned with antiseptic liquids (1% salicylic alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, chlorhexidine solution). It is also important to adhere to the hypoallergenic diet, be more out in the fresh air, get enough sleep. If necessary, you can contact the dermatologist, who will give the necessary recommendations.
