Child Development: Learning to Speak

Very often young mothers ask a question: when did your baby speak? - and anxiously await an answer, compare with their child, get upset or rather smile. But the development of the child is an individual process, and children also start talking at different times - some earlier, others later. However, almost from birth one can and must constantly develop the child's speech skills. Therefore, the topic of our conversation will be "Child Development: Learning to Speak."

Child aged 0-6 months

A child who sucks a breast or a bottle of milk, already develops muscles that are responsible for the ability to form words. The kid can not answer you yet, but he quickly learns to recognize your voice from many other voices. And new knowledge is absorbed into them like a sponge. All your actions are accompanied by pronouncing out loud. Whatever you do, from changing diapers to feeding the baby, say the names of your actions. Talk to him about everything. In doing so, do not forget that your child is desirable to see your face. He will imitate you, compare the sounds heard with facial expressions and different mouth shapes. And in the future will copy it all.

To the child 6-12 months

At this age, the kid continues to learn how to speak, he tries to say something, and he himself is interested in the sounds that have come out. Studying lips and tongue, he tries to understand how sound occurs. Many children of this age please parents with the first words - mom, dad, give. ... Try to repeat the child the sounds that he says, show that this is an exciting activity. If you call any words, then conduct an association with them. At the word "mom" show yourself, "dad" - at the pope, "porridge" - at the porridge, etc. Take part in your child's experiments with sounds. The words "hello" and "for now" relate to the arrival and departure of guests or family members. Do not forget about other simple words like "thank you", "please", "eat". Explain where and when to apply them. Show by example. Children quickly learn new knowledge, and soon they will try to use them.

To the child 12-18 months

Usually in the arsenal of the child at this point, there are a few simple words. Children of this age like to imitate the intonations of adults, so sometimes you can hear from them and their intonation. Sometimes in a child's speech words are skipped, the meaning of which they do not yet understand, they simply copied their parents. Do not forget that communication involves a two-way conversation. And if the child tries to say something, do not brush it off, but listen to the end. Repetition with the child of words should become a habit in this period. Show an item and name it several times. Now it's the child's turn to try to pronounce the word. Can not get him out of it? Slowly repeat the word several times. And again, give the child the opportunity to say his name. Any attempt to pronounce the word should be encouraged by praise, this will cause the child to strive for communication, which in turn will help him to learn how to speak faster.

Development of fine motor skills

It's no secret that there are points on the palms that are responsible for speech activity. These points, or speech centers, would be nice to stimulate, developing fine motor skills, massaging fingers and doing finger surgery. Precise articulation of sounds is directly dependent on fine motor skills. Speech develops better with high motor activity.

It's not difficult to pay attention to your fingers for a few minutes a day. They can be triturated, bent and unbent, accompanied by appropriate jokes. For example, "This finger is a boy, this finger is a mom, this finger is a dad, this finger is a woman, this finger is a grandfather." Very good, if you yourself can write something like that. Remember and "Ladushki-ladushki", and "Soroka-Beloboku", and "Goat horned." A kid older is already coping with crosses and hooks from his fingers ("Be reconciled, reconcile ..."). He likes to depict a bird ("The bird has flown in, waved, sat, sat, and then flew") or the cat's paw (the pads of the fingers are pressed to the top of the palm, the thumb is pressed to the index finger, and the word "meow" is loudly pronounced). Time, these exercises take a little, and the benefit is enormous.

For the development of fine motor skills, the touch pads are great. You can make them yourself. For each pad, a cloth measuring 10x10 cm is taken, sewed on three sides. They are filled with different objects, but to get two identical pads. A couple of pillows can be filled with peas, another couple - a mango, thick pasta, cotton wool, beans ... Pads are sewn up. Now the task of the baby is to find the same by touch.

A walnut and a bowl with peas will help to make a massage of the hands. Using a nut, tell about him. Show how he grew up on a tree and, falling off the wind, met with the children. By the way, the wind can be represented by the baby himself. When he blows, a long breath is trained, and this is also an exercise of verbal gymnastics. Oreshek can be hidden in the cam, and then find (squeeze-unclench the cam), you can ride it on the carousel (one hand on the other with force in a circle), slide down the hill (one hand is pressed with the back of the palm to the table, forming a slide, and the other hand roll the nut from the wrist to the fingertips and back). Well, then the nut is hidden in the pool, for which is considered a bowl with peas. The nut is not immediately found, and during the search, the fingers are massaged perfectly. All games with a nut are repeated several times. A child with pleasure is engaged in similar exercises.
