In 2 separate bowls sift flour and powdered sugar. Set aside. In a bowl with an electric mixer, whip the butter and sugar at medium speed, 2 to 3 minutes. Add egg whites, one at a time. Add the sifted flour, mix well. Add the vanilla. Add the food color until the desired shade is reached. Preheat the oven to 190 degrees with two racks in the center. Put two French silicone mats (Silpats) on two sheets for baking. Using a pattern, form a cookie in the shape of hearts from the dough. Bake the biscuits until ready, from 3 to 5 minutes. Allow to cool slightly. Store cookies in a sealed container at room temperature for 1 week.
