Eugenia Kanaeva is the ruler of the rings

In the rhythmic gymnastics of Russia a new star "lit". With her name, our team associates hopes for future victories in the 2012 Olympics. It's not a joke, but quite seriously called: Eugene Kanaeva - the ruler of the rings.

The path winds through the picturesque hills. From Moscow to Novogorsk at hand, but pursues the feeling that you are somewhere far away from the metropolis. Forest. River. High trees along the road. It's not like Moscow at all, but Switzerland.

A couple of turns - and here it is - the training center. Here they prepare the future Olympic champions. Silence, fresh air. Sinichki fun jumping along the paths. Around the poplar, lilac bushes. It must be especially beautiful in the summer.

Evgenia is still busy - she hands over the commission to her new program. We'll have to wait, counting the minutes, measuring the distance from the doors to the wall and studying corporate announcements like this - "Soon a holiday! Everyone should be in carnival costumes." Curious gymnasts order!

Gold medals at the age of seventeen.

Now Eugenia Kanaeva is 18 years old. Was born in Omsk. Her mother in her youth was fond of rhythmic gymnastics. But to give a big sport daughter still did not dare. Zhenya was brought to the section by my grandmother. She also became her spiritual mentor and inspirer to victory. By the age of 12, the girl managed to take part in many competitions. In 2007 she became the champion of Russia. And after there were many successful performances. In France - in Korbel-Esson - in the fourth stage of the World Cup, Kanayeva won three gold medals at once, won in exercises with a hoop, a skipping rope and a ribbon, having managed to beat Anna Bessonova, the prize-winners of the Olympic Games, the participants of the World Championships Natalia Godunko (Ukraine) , Inna Zhukova (Belarus), Aliya Garayeva (Azerbaijan), Simon Peichev (Bulgaria), etc. Zhenya won the all-around with a serious advantage.

At the Olympics in Beijing, the girl "fell" all hopes and aspirations of coaches, masters who left this sport, and just Russians, for her sick. The masters of rhythmic gymnastics said simply: "The difference between Kanayeva and Kabaeva is just one letter". Which meant - the girl has mastery of the highest standard. And she justified those words! Eugene Kanaeva became the absolute Olympic champion! She was 17 years old ...

Eugenia remembers her first steps in sports: "First she trained in Omsk, Elena Arais, then went to her mother - Vera Efremovna." Later Evgeny was invited to Moscow - to the Olympic Training Center. Now the girl is trained by the strongest specialists of the country - Irina Viner and Vera Shtelbaums. Irina Wiener is a legendary man. Until 1992 she worked in Tashkent, then moved to the capital. It is said that Uzbek President Karimov at one of the official summit meetings once exclaimed: "I'm asking everything, but please return the Republic of Wiener to the republic." The matter is that after the collapse of the USSR many gymnasts of the former Union remained in Belarus, Ukraine. Then Irina Alexandrovna brought her Tashkent pupils Amin Zaripov, Ian Batyrshin and Alina Kabaeva to Moscow. And now Russia is winning again.

Oh, we digress! However, the wife at the moment is not up to us - he is training hard. New exercises are being staged. At 9 am - lessons in choreography. Then - a little rest and again training. Four hours of "self-torture." Despite the fatigue, Zhenya is pleased: "When something turns out, I want to work again and again." In this they are all - people of great sport. But without it, what medals? ..

How gold is tempered.

Athletes themselves monitor their diet. In the morning - caviar, cottage cheese, oatmeal on the water. Kanaeva believes that such a diet is useful. After training, lunch. Eugene usually misses dinner. Well, a diet - you will not recover! However, this is something that you can get used to. The main thing is to keep oneself in shape.

In Novogorsk there are all conditions for quality training. Swimming pool, sauna, massage. Athletes are on full support. No domestic problems. Live together - one family. Girls help each other, cheer for friends in competitions. This is the great merit of coaches. They created a wonderful atmosphere - just do what you love!

Vera Stelbaums often buys tickets for the pupils to the theater. Were in the Bolshoi, went to the performances of the ensemble named after Igor Moiseyev. All this helps the gymnasts to hone their skills. Yes, and distracts a little, relaxes. Do not all practice!

In the evenings, Zhenya loves to read. Especially the Russian classics. I like Boris Pasternak. Another hobby (a bit strange for an athlete) is cross stitching ...

Evgenia does not plan any global plans, she does not think ahead: "In sport, the result depends on physical and moral costs." How you prepare determines a lot. "If not all."
