The yeast cake is focaccia. Focaccia is an ordinary yeast cake that is baked simply or with a filling, slightly pressed into the surface of the cake. In appearance, it is very similar to pizza, and according to many historians of cooking is its predecessor. The only difference between focaccia without fillings from our Russian cakes is the mandatory use of olive oil during the preparation of the dough. How else? The dish is Italian. In ancient times it was the habitual food of warriors and peasants, bread for the majority of people who live by their labor. Most often, focaccia is still made with stuffing, using for this purpose a wide variety of products: cheese, spicy herbs, olives, sun dried tomatoes, onions and so on. It preserves freshness for a long time, so you can take focaccia with you on trips, hiking, picnics and walks. Focaccia is much lighter, and tastier than buying bread, but there is with it anything you can. If you want to make a real treat, then prepare a focaccia with cherries or cherries. Berries can be either fresh, frozen or canned, from compote. Especially delicious it will turn out, if it is in a hot kind generously covered with powdered sugar.
Ingredients:- Boiled water 350 ml
- Dry yeast 1 tsp.
