Holiday cake Once my friends from Germany sent me an unusually beautiful scheme of weaving pies, but when baking they swam and lost shape. I was already desperate, but I got the recipe for the yeast dough in a cold way. This dough is just perfect for different forms of weaving, and since then figured holiday cakes are my favorite pastries. They can be made without stuffing, pies are soft, airy, with the finest crust, and if you add stuffing - you'll lick your fingers! The woven cherry pie is beautiful, lush and tasty. The advantages of this pie also include the fact that it takes only 15-20 minutes to bake it, and it retains its freshness for a long time (if it survives to the next day). From the proposed amount of the test, 2 large pies are obtained.
Ingredients:- Wheat flour 5 tbsp.
- Butter 200 g
- Yeast, dry 11 g
- Sugar 0.5 tbsp.
- Salt 0.5 tsp.
- Eggs chicken 2 pcs.
- Milk 1 tbsp.
- Cinnamon ground 1 tbsp. l.
- Bilberry syrup 100 ml
- Potato starch 1.5 tbsp. l.
- Sugar 0.5 tbsp.
- Cherry Frozen 500 g
- Eggs chicken 1 pc.
- Olive oil 0.5 tbsp. l.
- Step 1 To prepare the pie, we need a prepared yeast dough in a cold way, a cherry seedless (fresh or frozen), berry syrup (it is possible from jam), sugar and starch.
- Step 2 Frozen or fresh cherries fall asleep with sugar and starch, mix and leave on the table. Starch with baking will keep cherries juicy, but will not allow the juice to flow out of the test.
- Step 3 Dough warmed for half an hour, divide into 8 parts. For one pie we take 4 parts. One part is rolled into a pancake and with the help of a plate we cut an even circle. The size of the plate - no more than 20 centimeters, as when forming a pie the diameter will double and there is a risk that it will not fit on the pan.
- Step 4 Put the circle on a baking sheet covered with baking paper, grease with berry syrup and sprinkle with cinnamon, mixed with sugar.
- Step 5 Repeat the same thing with 3 parts of the test, stacking them with a pile. Scraps roll into the bun, divide in half, roll one half into one more circle and cover the 3 previous ones. Cut through the layers, dividing the circle into 8 parts, but not reaching the edge of 1 centimeter. In the resulting triangles, make slits, not reaching the corner and the base of the triangles.
- Step 6 Take the triangle to the top and loop it one or two times in the middle slot, the braided triangle bends to the outside. So we repeat until we patch all the triangles.
- Step 7 The rest of the scraps are rolled out and put into the middle, forming small edges. It is not necessary to pinch the dough, it will be connected when baking. The central circle is greased with olive oil, so that the cherries do not make the dough wet.
- Step 8 With the cherries merge the allocated juice (if this is done in advance, the juice can be used to make a syrup to lubricate the circles), put the cherries in the center of the cake and sprinkle a little more sugar and starch. Wicker edges of the cake are smeared with egg and put the cake baked at 180 ° C.
- Step 9 While one cake is baked, you can prepare the second of the remaining dough. After 15 minutes, peer into the oven and check the readiness with a wooden skewer.
