Salad herring under a fur coat Despite the fact that modern housewives know how to cook the most incredible dishes, many of which can rightly be considered exotic, yet some salads and snacks still occupy a place of honor on our tables. And the dishes with them are emptied first. Well, how can you do without traditional Olivier, from which almost all men are delighted, or without their favorite sandwiches with red caviar or sprats? Unpretentious, it would seem, dishes that do not require any special imagination or skill in cooking, nevertheless enjoy great popularity. The same can be said about the herring under the fur coat. This salad really takes a central place on the festive table. To cook it, unlike Olivier, is not so quick and simple, that's why it appears only on holidays. It is with him usually begins a feast - everyone tries to put a portion of herring under a fur coat in his plate, while the more enterprising neighbors on the table did not eat everything. In fact, nothing complicated in the preparation of herring under the fur coat is not, especially if you use ready-made, skin and bones cleaned, herring fillets. But still this salad is more delicious from that fish, which was salted entirely in a barrel.
Ingredients:- Herring salted 600 g
- Eggs of chicken 4 pcs.
- Potatoes 2 pcs.
- Carrot 1 pc.
- Beets 1 pc.
- Mayonnaise 180 g
- Onions 1 pc.
- Table vinegar 2 tbsp. l.
- Step 1 To prepare the salad, we take herring, beets, carrots, chicken eggs, potatoes, onions and mayonnaise.
- Step 2 Onion peeled into thin half-rings and pour vinegar.
- Step 3 Finely chop the herring fillets.
- Step 4 Boil the eggs hard boiled (dip into cold water and cook for 10 minutes after boiling). Grate eggs on a coarse grater.
- Step 5 Carrots boil (dip into cold water, bring to a boil and cook for 20-25 minutes until cooked). Then also rub on a coarse grater.
- Step 6 Boil the potatoes in a uniform, cool, clean and rub on a coarse grater.
- Step 7 Boil the beets, cool, cool, and rub on a coarse grater.
- Step 8 At the bottom of the dish put the first layer of potatoes, and then lubricate it thinly with mayonnaise.
- Step 9 The next layer is herring and pickled onion, which is also finely greased with mayonnaise.
- Step 10 Then put a layer of eggs and also lubricate with mayonnaise.
- Step 11 Put eggs on the carrots, and then a thin layer of mayonnaise.
