How at home to clean leather products?
- Wiped places on the skin with a white cream, it can be prepared at home. To do this, in an enamel bowl, melted 9 grams of beeswax and add with mixing 1.5 grams of potassium carbonate and 16 ml of turpentine. The mixture is heated to 70 degrees, stirring constantly, add 40 ml of water. The resulting paste is quickly cooled and stored in a sealed glass container.

- Leather coats and jackets "refresh" with a tampon pre-moistened with soapy water with the addition of glycerin. After this procedure, you should wipe the skin with a cloth soaked in undiluted glycerin or castor oil.
- Very soft and thin skin from time to time in order to prevent scuffing can be wiped with a mixture of equal parts of turpentine and milk, then wipe with white cream for the skin.
- Leather thin gloves should be cleaned with a solution of gasoline soap, for this they need to be worn simply on the hands or on the frame. Strongly dirty places rub with gruel from ethyl alcohol and zinc oxide. Leather gloves that have hardened from water, grease with castor oil or hold them slightly in soapy water with the addition of vegetable oil. Or treat with water, acidified with vinegar.
- If you lightly rub leather gloves with talc, they will get shine. And if talc is covered in gloves and rubbed, shake out excess, they will not dirty their hands and shed.
We clean the gloves and suede products as follows:
- Take 10% ammonia, dilute with 4 times the amount of water and clean with a cotton swab, changing it as it gets dirty, then wipe the product with a cotton swab that moisten with clean water with the addition of vinegar and take 1 teaspoon of vinegar per liter of water.
- To get the mixture, take 1 glass of milk and 1 teaspoon of soda. Wipe the product with this mixture, and then with a cotton swab.
- Cleaning products made of suede is much easier than leather. Suede skirt, jacket, vest can be washed in a slightly warm solution of detergent powder without bleaches and supplements. Washing pastes for washing wool, silk and synthetic fabrics meet these requirements. Then the product should be rinsed with warm water, not wringing out, squeezing, wrapped in a dry sheet or towel. After drying on the shoulders, the product must be kneaded, the suede will again become soft. Also clean and dry cleaners, but home treatment can lead to shrinkage, if the suede is of poor quality. While the product is wet, it should be slightly stretched in the transverse and in the longitudinal direction, so that the product does not decrease in size.
