Vaseline in this case can be replaced with walnut oil, but not everyone can afford to buy such an expensive product, and not in every city it is sold.

In general, to use an iron in smoothing leather things is not advisable, but there are a couple of ways when the use of iron is appropriate. For example, the temperature of heating the iron should be minimal, and the product is covered with a thin layer of Kraft paper (this paper is used for pasting furniture from cardboard made by one's own hands) and is ironed along it.
